A. Mitti Liebersohn, Avison Young President and Managing Director of the firm’s New York City office, announced the hiring of Susan Kahaner and Jennifer Ogden.
Effective immediately, Kahaner and Ogden will join Avison Young as senior directors in the New York City office, working on the firm’s tenant representation team.
A 25-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry, Kahaner has primarily represented non-profits and art-related institutions, including Steinway Pianos, the Fashion Institute of technology, Philanthropy New York, Sotheby’s Institute of Fine Arts and the Better Business Bureau. Before joining Avison Young, Kahaner spent more than 20 years at brokerages Cushman & Wakefield and CBRE. Kahaner also served as a staff writer for CBS Evening News anchor Walter Cronkite.
The recipient of a B.A. from Hofstra University, Kahaner is a licensed real estate professional in the State of New York and a member of REBNY.
A seasoned industry veteran, Ogden has provided real estate services to a wide range of clients, from start-ups to large corporations. With a focus on TAMI and emerging technology companies, as well as financial organizations, Ogden’s notable clients include Interlude, Cinedigm, the Fashion Institute of Technology, Boxed, Steinway Pianos, New York Foundling, Philanthropy New York, and Bombfell. Before joining Avison Young, Ogden worked at Cushman & Wakefield and CBRE, prior to which she spent 10 years in the financial industry.
Ogden is currently a board member for MADRE, an international women’s human rights organization, and has served on the boards of Goodwill Rescue Mission and The Junior League of Montclair-Newark, and she co-founded the League’s Endowment Campaign where she helped raise over $1 million for the organization. A graduate of Hamilton College, she is a licensed real estate professional in the State of New York and a member of REBNY.

Marcus & Millichap has named Ken Sayward chief information officer (CIO), according to Gregory LaBerge, chief administrative officer.
Before joining Marcus & Millichap, Sayward was the head of global business applications for Colliers International for five years where he was responsible for strategy, architecture and delivery of Colliers’ internal and external applications, overseeing and executing the development cycle from user needs definition to development and implementation. Prior to that he was global director of Information System for Whirlpool International for 14 years.
Ken graduated from the University of New Haven with a degree in electrical engineering.

Marie C. Iammatteo has joined the NYC Housing Partnership as Chief Financial Officer, a new position.
Ms. Iammatteo joins the Housing Partnership from Hope Community Inc., an East Harlem based non-profit affordable housing organization, where she served as CFO. Prior to that she was VP-Finance of the Swerdlow Real Estate Group, a private Florida based company involved in a broad range of development, management, leasing and ownership activities.
Earlier in her career she worked with Triangle Industries, Texaco and US Industries.
Ms. Iammatteo received an MBA degree in finance from Pace University’s Lubin School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

After a quarter century of leading Rubenstein Associates’ real estate PR practice, public relations executive Steve Solomon has launched his own boutique consulting firm.
The one-time Real Estate Weekly editor will run a specialized practice, known as Steve Solomon Inc., devoted exclusively to real estate and focusing heavily on corporate branding, media relations and creative PR strategies.
Solomon will continue to represent many of his longtime clients, including LeFrak, Cohen Brothers Realty Corporation, William Macklowe Company and The Naftali Group, in his new venture.
Perhaps best known for introducing SL Green Realty to the marketplace and developing the multi-faceted PR and corporate branding program that brought national attention to the
Corcoran Group and helped Barbara Corcoran achieve wide recognition as an industry superstar, Solomon has put his creative stamp on the PR programs for a veritable “who’s who” among owner/developers, investors, service firms and trade organizations in the real estate industry.
Heading his own PR firm is not a new experience for Solomon, who led The Solomon Organization, a full-service agency, from 1971 to 1990. He was the editor of Real Estate Weekly in the early 60s and worked at Rubenstein as an associate between ’65 and ’69.

EVO Real Estate Group has appointed Vicki Freeman as a retail real estate advisor and Jacob Stern as an associate.
Freeman is joining EVO’s fast-growing retail leasing team. She recently moved to New York City from Newport News, Virginia, where she serves as an associate broker with Tower Park Real Estate, a firm she founded to represent a family-owned real estate portfolio valued in excess of $100 million. A licensed real estate salesperson in New York, Ms. Freeman has additional experience as a retail business owner of luxury and lifestyle boutiques. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Christopher Newport University and serves as a member of its Board of Visitors. Ms. Freeman will focus primarily on the Midtown South /Chelsea retail corridor, including the gallery district, as she has extensive experience and relationships within the arts community.
Stern, also a licensed real estate salesperson in New York, is the newest member of EVO’s office tenant representation team. In this capacity, he will secure space for tenants and participate in new business development within the EVO Mentorship program under the supervision of Barry Bernstein, a senior broker at EVO. Mr. Stern received his bachelor’s degree in business management from SUNY Farmingdale. Before joining EVO, he handled sales management, and business development for a high-end retail store.

Colliers International has announced the addition of Associate Ryan Haggerty to its brokerage team in Parsippany, New Jersey.
Haggerty will focus on landlord and tenant representation, working directly with leading industry veteran, Richard J. Madison, Executive Managing Director. Madison and his team represent many regional and national clients and Haggerty will play an integral role by continuing to support the team’s mission to deliver excellent service and responsiveness.
Prior to joining Colliers, Haggerty served as an intern with New Jersey Transit where he provided sales variance analyses to improve productivity and efficiency. His understanding of transit and infrastructure will assist in advising clients.
Haggerty is a graduate of Elizabethtown College where he received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Studies. He actively serves as a Cancer Cause Volunteer with the American Cancer Society and has consistently participated in the organization’s Relay for Life fundraiser for the last four years.

Colliers International Group Inc. announced that Michael Roessle has joined the firm as Director of National Office Research, effective immediately. Roessle, who brings nearly 15 years of industry research expertise, will focus on analyzing office property trends and delivering timely market projections to provide Colliers brokers and clients with a leading edge in the industry.
In his work with Colliers, Roessle will prepare Colliers’ respected quarterly and special office research reports. He will interpret trends and data for Colliers International investor and occupier clients across the country. Drawing upon his broad real estate market expertise, Mike will help drive Colliers research agenda in corporate real estate and other property sectors.
Prior to joining Colliers, Roessle directed statistical analysis for a global commercial services firm, producing quarterly and annual market reports. He also oversaw in-depth research and analysis on corporate real estate trends, industry sectors and market dynamics to identify and communicate trends and insights relevant to real estate and to clients. Prior to that role, he served as a research supervisor for a leading commercial real estate data provider.
Roessle is a licensed New York State Real Estate Salesperson, and he holds a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University.

National real-estate developer Southern Land Company has hired Jim Egan as Director of Acquisitions for the Northeast and Mike Raffio as Development Project Manager for the Northeast. Egan and Raffio will be based out of the newly expanded New York office located at 45 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City.
Egan, a resident of Rye, New York, will focus on acquisitions in cities from Boston, MA to Washington, D.C., and brings thirty years of construction, finance and development experience to his role at Southern Land.
Prior to joining Southern Land, Egan held leadership positions at several premier organizations including Anbau Enterprises, America First Apartment Investors, ING Clarion Partners and DRA Advisors.
Raffio, of Norwalk, Conn., will focus on Southern Land’s rapidly expanding development efforts along the Northeast Corridor. Raffio brings more than 25 years of experience in architecture, engineering and construction management of multiple high rise buildings in New York City. He joins Southern Land from The Macquesten Companies, where he was directly responsible for all phases of construction from scheduling to project development.

The Board of Trustees of Ridgewood Savings Bank announced it has elected Mr. Kenneth D. Daly and Mr. Neil Weingarten to its Board of Trustees effective January 1, 2016 and Mr. Robert F. McCarthy effective July 1, 2016.
Kenneth D. Daly is currently the President of National Grid, New York. Mr. Daly began his career at National Grid, formerly Keyspan and Brooklyn Union Gas, in 1988. His 27 years of experience at National Grid are primarily in the financial division; he previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Global Gas Distribution as well as Global Financial Controller. Mr. Daly also teaches finance, human resources, and management as an Adjunct Professor of Management at St. Francis College.
Neil Weingarten is an insurance sales management professional with over 20 years of general insurance agency management experience and more than 15 years as a group insurance brokerage sales manager. Mr. Weingarten is currently the Vice President of Broker Operations at Conference Associates, Inc., in Patchogue New York. He is also a Director of the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce.
Robert F. McCarthy has 37 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with expertise in business strategy, P&L management, and leadership. Mr. McCarthy is currently the Managing Director & Chief Operations Officer of Chartwell Hotels in Concord, New Hampshire. Previously, he was Senior Vice President of Operations at Linchris Hotel Corporation in Hanover, Massachusetts.
