HelmsleySpear, LLC, has announced the appointment Afa J. Zada as a Real Estate Agent and Licensed Salesperson.

Zada brings more than a decade of experience in International real estate development and global marketing. Her closed transactions have included major mixed-use real estate development projects in Dubai, Moscow, Seoul and Istanbul including the Dubai Marina Mall and the Port Baku Mall.   

Ms. Zada is fluent in many languages including Russian, English, Turkish, Korean and Azerbushani. She earned her B.A. in Turkish-Korean Translation and a Master’s Degree in Project Development from the University of Salford, UK.

Integra Realty Resources (IRR), a commercial real estate valuation and consulting firm, has announced John Gillooly, MRICS, SCGREA, CTA has rejoined the company as Director of its IRR—Northern New Jersey office.

Gillooly, a seasoned commercial real estate industry veteran who has served the New Jersey marketplace for nearly three decades, previously served as First Vice President in Newmark Knight Frank’s Valuation & Advisory Whippany, New Jersey, office. Prior to that position, Gillooly was Director of Integra’s Northern New Jersey where he worked for more than two decades prior to the office being acquired by Newmark Knight Frank in 2017.

Gillooly has been actively engaged in a wide range of commercial real estate appraisal assignments across all product during his 30-year career. Assignments include litigation consultation and expert witness testimony in condemnation, property tax assessment, as well as commercial mortgage financing and estate tax valuation, acquisition/disposition analysis.

Active in his professional industry and local community, Gillooly currently serves as Director of the International Right of Way Association (IRWA) Chapter 15 (New Jersey Chapter) and is an active member and former board member at the Metro New Jersey Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. Gillooly is also a member and former director of The Meadows Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to the preservation and restoration of historic sites in New Jersey.

Gillooly earned his bachelor’s in economics from Rutgers University and is a certified general real estate appraiser (SCGREA) in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania; a certified tax assessor (CTA) in New Jersey and a licensed real estate salesperson in New Jersey.

David Singer has joined Katz & Associates’ New York office as Sales Associate. Singer has over 20 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, having orchestrated dozens of food and beverage retail transactions in Manhattan and New Jersey.

Most recently, Singer worked at RJ Brunelli where he aided in the expansion of the women’s fashion boutique, Twenty5a and a first location for GIA, a Thai chicken and rice quick-serve concept from chef Chat Suansilphong. Both stores opened earlier this year and plan on rolling out additional locations in 2020.

In 2010 Singer joined Tao Group Hospitality where he has since opened more than a dozen of Tao’s latest projects. Additionally, Singer has consulted for dozens of other F&B projects such as The Standard Hotel (meatpacking), The Rio Hotel (Las Vegas), W Hotel (Fort Lauderdale), 230 Fifth and The Williamsburg Hotel.

CBRE has announced that Cerise Marcela has joined the company as Senior Manager with Workplace Strategy and a member of CBRE Boston Consulting. In this new role, Marcela will focus on incorporating strategic workplace approach for office clients.

Marcela has over eight years of experience in commercial real estate and workplace consulting. She recently served at Gensler as a Senior Strategist and Project Manager, helping Fortune 500 organizations create mission-driven workplace strategies. During her time at Gensler, her work with Partners HealthCare was awarded Best Large New Workplace by CoreNet New England, and her work on Reebok’s headquarters was awarded Best Large Workplace by IIDA New England. In 2019, Cerise was named by Connect Media as a Next Generation honoree, recognized as a young leader in the commercial real estate industry who is likely to be influential for years to come.

Marcela is a graduate of Cornell University, where she earned a Master of Science in Human Environment Relations, Workplace Research and Real Estate.

Cresa has appointed Erica B. Maganti as Director of Marketing for the New York office. In her new position, Maganti will oversee all marketing efforts for the Cresa transactional and project management teams and the Building Technology Solutions (BTS) division. In addition, she will help prepare quarterly reports and liaise with the firm’s Washington, D.C. headquarters.

Maganti has more than 20 years of experience in design, branding and marketing strategy for real estate companies, media companies, and non-profit organizations. She led the marketing efforts at Hudson Yards for Related Companies from 2011 to 2016, helping to establish the brand and drive the creative that supported the company’s commercial leasing teams. Her work for Hudson Yards entailed information design and communications tools for key campus tenants, including L’Oreal, BCG, Warner Media and BlackRock. Prior to joining Cresa, Ms. Maganti served as Creative Director for the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, where she rebuilt the museum’s digital marketing presence and designed solutions in support of tourism, visitor experience and fundraising efforts.

Alfred Sanzari Enterprises has announced that Erin Henry has been promoted to the role of Commercial Property Manager, overseeing 2 million square feet of Alfred Sanzari Enterprises’ office and industrial portfolio.

Since joining Alfred Sanzari Enterprises in 2009, Henry has risen through the ranks of the company, most recently holding the position of Operations Coordinator and Industrial Property Manager. In her new role, Henry will oversee the management of 2 million s/f of Alfred Sanzari Enterprises’ office and industrial portfolio including their 335,000-s/f Court Plaza office complex and 200,000-square-foot Heights Plaza office building.

Managing more than 200 commercial tenants, Henry will work closely with Alfred Sanzari Enterprises’ Director of Property Management, Jeffrey Fuller, to ensure that every tenant receives the highest standards of service to promote tenant satisfaction and retention across the properties under her management. In addition to overseeing day-to-day maintenance and ongoing tenant needs, Henry will work with Alfred Sanzari Enterprises’ internal construction team to manage tenant improvements and repairs as well as execute larger capital improvement plans to ensure that the company’s properties continue to stand out in a competitive marketplace.

Oliver Seidler, founder and CEO of PropertyForce, has been accepted into Forbes Real Estate Council, an exclusive, invitation-only community for executives in the real estate industry.

A review committee vetted and selected Seidler to join the council based on the depth and diversity of his experience. Criteria for acceptance include a track record of successfully impacting the real estate industry, as well as personal and professional achievements and honors.

Seidler founded PropertyForce in 2006 and has since created a streamlined system that provides everyone with real estate investment opportunities, as well as a platform for those interested in working in wholesale real estate to learn and grow within the industry.

Ditchik & Ditchik, PLLC, a full-service New York City real estate tax certiorari law firm has welcomed real property tax attorney Steven Tishco to the position of partner. Tishco will serve in a leadership capacity alongside Managing Partner Joel Ditchik.

Tishco brings a decade-and-a-half of New York City real estate tax litigation experience and will help serve Ditchik & Ditchik’s established client base of major New York developers, landlords and hoteliers, the vast majority of whom own properties in the five boroughs. 

Tishco was previously an associate attorney for real estate tax litigation at Marcus & Pollack LLP and served as senior counsel at the New York City Law Department’s Tax and Bankruptcy Litigation Division. A native Brooklynite, Tishco earned his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2004 and was admitted to the bar in 2005. 

Ditchik serves on various legal associations including The Association of the Bar of the City of New York (Chair, Committee on Condemnation and Tax Certiorari, 2003-2006; Secretary, 2001-2002), Real Estate Board of New York (Tax Policy Committee), Nassau County and New York State Bar Associations and Real Estate Tax Review Bar Association (President, 2013-2015; Director, 2002-present).

Jennifer Bernstein recently joined the team at Current Real Estate Advisors as a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson. Bernstein brings a keen understanding of both tenant and landlord representation to Current. Previously, Bernstein worked at ABS Partners Real Estate where she worked closely with the Kellogg Company, Momofuku, Momofuku Milk Bar, Bandier, Hickey Freeman, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Brodo, MNDFL, Keetsa and SLT. On the landlord representation side, she has worked with Acadia Realty Trust, Hudson Companies and Croman Real Estate.

Prior to ABS Partners Real Estate, Bernstein handled media, publishing and consumer accounts at Goodman Media International. Former clients include the Grand Central Terminal, The New York Times, Reader’s Digest, Time Home Entertainment Inc., PBS, Telemundo, Sports Illustrated and the Hess Toy Truck. Bernstein is a graduate of New York University.

Quarters, a co-living provider in the United States and Europe, has welcomed Rui Barros as chief operating officer (COO).

Barros brings with him over 30 years of experience in hospitality, operations and marketing, and has a record in brand expansion and management. Prior to Quarters, Barros served as senior vice president and head of global operations for WeWork, president and managing director of EMEA and North America for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, where he led the growth and operation of 15 hotel brands representing nearly 7,000 properties in North America with $500 million in revenue, and COO of Habitas, a growing experiential hotel brand. 

This appointment comes at a pivotal moment for Quarters, which announced a $300 million investment for its U.S. expansion and roughly $1.1 billion investment  for its European expansion.

RM Friedland has announced two new hires to its growing team of real estate brokerage professionals:

Millie Hernandez-Becker is a Westchester County entrepreneur, with over 25 years of sales and senior leadership experience. Her storied track record includes acting as the CEO of a private charter company called Westchester Air, which she later sold to the Carlyle Group. Among her many awards, Hernandez-Becker was appointed to the National Women’s Business Council and earned the businessperson of the year award from The US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Her current entity Skyqueen is a NYS-certified MWBE.

Hernandez-Becker will be working in the retail and investment divisions of RM Friedland leveraging her powerful network and helping to build the company’s MWBE business.

Alison Luisi also joined the firm this month. She began her brokerage career at Avison Young where she helped lead the capital markets’ team expansion into Fairfield and Westchester County.

Luisi specializes in land development for senior housing where she has enjoyed a strong recent track record of over 20 land deals. Prior to commercial brokerage, Luisi had a successful 20-year career in Investment Banking working at institutions such as Merrill Lynch, ING Bank and VTB Bank. She is an active member of 100 women in Hedge Funds, Real Estate Finance Association of Connecticut among other organizations. She will be working in RM Friedland’s investment sales division to help expand the firm’s presence in Fairfield County.

Commercial real estate technology firm Integrated Business Systems (IBS) has announced the appointment of Daniel Lehman as vice president of sales and marketing. The industry veteran brings more than two decades of construction and property management tech experience to the company.

Lehman will oversee sales and marketing for two new products that support easy integrations with best-in-class software addressing various real estate-related tasks.

Lehman previously held vice president and senior sales positions with Viewpoint Construction Software and predecessor firms Maxwell Systems and Colonial Systems. During this 21-year tenure he guided sales teams through multiple acquisitions.

He is a long-time member of the Construction Financial Management Association and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Penn State University.
