Manhattan Skyline Management Corp. announced a new, long-term lease with Equinox, the global high performance lifestyle company, to bring E by Equinox to the Upper East Side.
This represents the first US-based standalone iteration of the E by Equinox brand.
The townhouse-style club, known as E Madison Avenue, is located at 30 East 85th Street and consists of 14,000 s/f in total, with 142 feet of frontage on Madison Avenue.
The storefront wraps the southwest corner with an additional 120 feet of frontage and a ground floor entrance on East 85th Street.
Previously, the space was occupied by David Barton Gym. Joshua Roth, vice president, Retail Leasing for Manhattan Skyline Management Corp., handled the deal for the landlord in-house.
“This is the ideal location for a high-end brand like Equinox, as it is situated within one of the most affluent zip codes in the country, just a stone’s throw away from Central Park, and among some of the finest retailers, cultural institutions, hotels, restaurants and private schools in the city,” said Roth.
“The unmatched professionalism of the Equinox team and the uniqueness and quality of what they have created in this space made this deal very compelling for us as an owner.”
Now open, E Madison Avenue offers a personalized member experience featuring Equinox’s top personal trainers, curated nutrition and regeneration programs, private Pilates, signature group fitness classes and elevated design details.
Interiors have been brought to life by the Equinox design team in collaboration with Studio Munge.
Amenities include a laundry valet, a living room-style lounge and spacious locker rooms featuring cult organic beauty brand, Grown Alchemist.
“Equinox is a welcomed addition to the neighborhood and will fit in nicely with the other retail tenants in our commercial condo unit; lululemon, Madewell and Starbucks,” added Roth.
