The Moinian Group’s holiday party was held on December 11 at the Espace event space next door to Atelier, the luxury 46-story residential tower on Manhattan’s West Side that the company built in 2007. Some 400 guests attended and enjoyed an international buffet, a Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve tasting and danced to the sounds of the live band, Soul Connection. The company recently named Bill Wallerstein head of construction and development for a new Moinian tower once dubbed Atelier II being built at 605 West 42nd Street. Upon completion, which is slated for the third quarter of 2015, the 60-story, 1.16 million-square-foot luxury, mixed-use glass tower will have 1,174 units rental units (from studio to two bedroom) and approximately 50,000 s/f of retail space with 200 ft. of frontage on 11th Avenue and a parking garage with nearly 500 parking spaces. This building will rise just to the north of Moinian’s 3 Hudson Boulevard, giving residents access to Hudson Park & Boulevard, the new 7 line extension, and the Highline Park.
