DONE DEALS: Roundup of the week in residential sales

Harlem Lofts president Robb Pair has set a new pricing record for a neighborhood townhouse that just happened to be his own home.

ROBB PAIR

The veteran broker closed on 123 West 119th Street for $4.15 million, beating the previous $4.075 million that was paid for the late Maya Angelouʼs home on nearby West 120th Street last summer.
Pair bought the house 15 years ago and carried out a major renovation. He added a penthouse in 2012 and configured the 5,700 s/f building as a three-family townhouse with a large back garden.
The owner’s triplex has a 3,200 s/f open floor plan and some of the buildingʼs original ornamental ceilings and intricate woodwork, as well as a deck with steps to the landscaped backyard with its custom built-in grill.
“The sale is indicative of the direction of the rapidly gentrifying neighborhood, and a bright spot in Manhattan’s otherwise slowing real estate market,ˮ said Pair, noting that EVO Real Estate brought in the buyer, who will maintain the house as a rental.
