Monday Properties announced the appointments of Timothy Helmig and Dang Phan, each as co-president.
In addition, Helmig will serve as COO and Phan will serve in the newly created position of chief investment officer.
Helmig will direct all Monday Properties operations, existing portfolio and project developments.
Phan, who joined the firm in 2013, will focus on developing investment and capital raising strategies and initiatives.
Prior to joining Monday Properties, Timothy Helmig was a partner at Westfield Realty, Inc., where he led lease and sales transactions totaling approximately $2 billion.
While at Monday Properties, he has led over two million square feet of leasing, including the 600,000 s/f long term lease renewal with the U.S. Coast Guard, the largest lease transaction in 2008 in the Washington, D.C. area. Helmig is a graduate of American University.
Prior to joining Monday Properties, Dang Phan served for nearly three decades with leading firms in real estate finance and private equity, and during the last 20 years as a senior principal, COO and/or CFO of three global real estate private equity fund businesses at Goldman Sachs, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, and Soros Fund Management.
He has participated in or led the formation and management of eight global real estate private equity funds.
Phan graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1983 as a Benjamin Franklin Scholar, with honors and a B.S.E.E. in Computer Science and Engineering, and from Harvard Business School in 1987 with an MBA.
He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a Trustee of two leading independent schools.
Cushman & Wakefield announced that Patrick J. Dugan, formerly of CBRE, has joined the firm as a director of brokerage in its New York City offices.
Dugan, who reports to Ron Lo Russo, president, NY Tri-State Region and Suzy Reingold, COO, NY Tri-State Region, is based in the firm’s world headquarters office in Midtown Manhattan.
He will play a central role in managing approximately 180 brokers in the company’s Midtown and Downtown offices, with direct management responsibility for approximately 50 brokers.
Dugan served as leasing agent with CBRE for nearly two million square feet of office space.
A licensed associate broker in New York State, he earned CBRE’s Rookie of the Year designation for Downtown Manhattan in 2005.
He is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York and the St. Francis College Alumni Board of Directors.
Dugan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from St. Francis College and has attended New York University’s School of Continuing Education.
Evergreen Insurance and Risk Management announced the appointment of Esther Tauber as account executive at the commercial real estate insurance agency headquartered in Monsey, NY.
Most recently, Tauber ran Oxford Coverage’s commercial real estate office in Monsey where she grew her client business to over $10 million in premiums.
She started her career at IGI Insurance Agency in Brooklyn in 2006 where she served real estate owners and investors.

Robert Gastel, a 30-year professional with Cushman & Wakefield, has rejoined the firm’s New York Tri-State Management ranks as a managing director, New York City offices.
He will help develop and implement a range of key, regional initiatives, while assisting in day-to-day management of the Midtown and Downtown offices.
Gastel will also help create and implement training programs for brokerage professionals and staff.
Gastel will report to Ron Lo Russo, President, New York Tri-State Region and Suzy Reingold, COO, New York Tri-State Region.
Gastel joined Cushman & Wakefield in a management capacity in 1984 as assistant finance and administration manager for the New York Region.
He served on the management team until 1988, when he transitioned into the financial services group and was directly involved in multiple investment sales of office, industrial and retail properties in the NY Tri-State area and around the country.
Gastel joined the company’s brokerage team in 1998 and completed a range of transactions.
Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, he was a senior audit manager for the New York Mercantile Exchange.
He holds a degree in Accounting from Queens College of the City University of New York.
Michael Hunter Coghill has joined Eastern Consolidated as associate director.
Coghill specializes in the sales and acquisition of all commercial property types, with an emphasis on multifamily and development sites below 96th Street in Manhattan.
Previously, he worked at TF Cornerstone as a leasing manager, where he trained and managed the leasing consultant staff, directed rental efforts in luxury buildings, and tracked market trends.
Coghill is a graduate of Siena College with a degree in Psychology.
Rose Associates has hired Michael J. Duff as manager of residential marketing.
Duff will direct marketing and lead generation efforts for a portfolio of Rose-owned and Rose-marketed properties. For the past eight months, Duff has been acting as a full-time consultant for Rose.
Duff started his career in real estate advertising, working for New York City-based firms Chavin Lambert Advertising and Sun & Moon Marketing Communications, Inc.

Situs announced that managing director Andrew Serling has been appointed head of Ranieri Partners Asset Management, Situs’ registered investment advisor.
Serling will provide strategic direction to the investment advisor and present Situs with business development opportunities.
He will continue to serve as managing director for the parent company, Situs.
Serling brings more than 20 years of experience in real estate capital markets and investments.
He joined Situs in January 2013, after having spent 15 years with Berkadia Commercial Mortgage and its predecessors Capmark Investments LP and GMAC Commercial Mortgage.
In addition, he was a founding member of the CMBS trading business at Lehman Brothers.
Serling received his Bachelor’s degree in economics from George Washington University, and earned his Master of Business Administration in Finance from the State University of New York at Albany.
He also holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Development and Investment Analysis from New York University.
HKS Capital Partners announced that Richard Garfinkel has been promoted to vice president of commercial originations and is responsible for CRE loan origination, debt, equity, and structured finance.
Educated at Columbia University School of Engineering, Garfinkel has been an active investor for more than 30 years.
He possesses a diverse background in business and in real estate construction, acquisition, permanent and refinance lending.
Also, he is experienced in contract negotiation between US and foreign companies covering asset exchanges, joint ventures, and asset finance deals.
