WHO’S NEWS: JLL hires new SVP, NAI Mertz puts on new EVP and director

Ryan Condren and George Danut have joined JLL as Senior Vice Presidents of Retail Advisory Services, based in New York City.
They have supported retailers and investors operating in the New York region with retailer representation and agency leasing counsel for more than a decade. In their new roles, they’ll focus on growing the firm’s Brooklyn retail advisory service offerings.
The two join JLL from CPEX Real Estate, and have extensive experience negotiating leases with national, institutional, and local commercial tenants in the NYC Metro area, with a focus on Brooklyn and the outer boroughs.
Some of the notable tenants they have worked with are Aesop, Blick Arts Material, Brooklyn Fare, BankUnited, Ferguson, Bar Method, Club Pilates, and Benefits Cosmetics (subsidiary of LVMH).
The team has also represented landlords and developers including Madison Realty Capital, Quinlan Development Group, Lonicera, Avery Hall Investments, RAL, Vanke, Adam America, and Hidrock Realty.

NAI Mertz announced Bobbi Jean Formosa has joined the firm as its Executive Vice President & Managing Director providing operational oversight for the firm’s four offices in Mount Laurel, NJ, and throughout Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Bucks County and Wilkes-Barre.
Formosa joins NAI Mertz with over 25 years of experience in commercial real estate.
She has a track record of success having contributed to the growth of New America Network to NAI Global where she served as the Executive Vice President for the top five ranked global real estate brand.
Formosa has extensive experience in change and performance management, organizational design, process improvement, recruiting/training, business planning, marketing, client services and sales.

CBRE has named Jean-Francois Gillard the Global Director of Accounting & Reporting Services and Greg Shaw the Global COO of Fund Accounting and Fund Administration Services within its Property Management business line.
Prior to this role, Gillard was the Senior Managing Director for CBRE’s fund accounting & administration business.
He joined CBRE in 2011 with the acquisition of ING Real Estate Investment Management.
Gillard has more than 10 years of experience in Real Estate Investment Management and 15 years of experience in commercial and investment banking.
Shaw joins CBRE with more than 25 years of leadership experience in global banking and investment services organizations.
Most recently, he served with KPMG in their Management Consulting Practices group advising clients on their global service delivery models and strategies.

Amboy Bank announced the hiring of John S. Pancetti, Vice President and Senior Commercial Loan Officer.
Pancetti joins from Spencer Savings Bank where he served as Vice President and Relationship Manager.
He graduated from Wagner College with a Bachelor of Science in Economics & Business Administration, as well as from New York University with a diploma in Real Estate & Investment Analysis.

Helmsley Spear announced the appointment of Rene Hamilton as an Assistant Vice President focusing on commercial real estate leasing in the New York Metropolitan region market place.
Hamilton was previously a commercial tenant agent with Vicus Partners where his clients ranged from international financial firms, to light manufacturing and prominent law firms.
He began his professional career in the non-profit and education sectors. He brings this experience to the firm while continuing to work with and advise two New York non-profits: Directions for Our Youth (DFOY) and Council of Urban Real Estate (CURE).
Hamilton participates in community development activities through broad personal involvement contributing his professional expertise on many levels.
He is an alumni of Williams College where he received a BA degree.

Romer Debbas LLP has expanded its agency lending practice led by partner Christian Daglieri, Esq. with the recent hiring of two new associates:
Christina Nguyen joins the firm as an associate attorney in the agency’s Lending Departments.
Nguyen formerly worked for Weber Dowd Law in New Jersey focusing on commercial real estate acquisitions, landlord tenant disputes, and government law specifically with municipalities and civil litigation.
In March 2017, she worked for Morgan Stanley in New York as a compliance analyst.
Nguyen graduated from St. John’s University School of Law in 2016 and began her legal career as a Dean’s Fellow for the St. John’s University School of Law Securities Arbitration Clinic.
She received the Catholic Lawyers’ Guild Scholarship, Flushing Lawyers Endowed Scholarship and NAPABA (National Asian Pacific American Bar Association) UPS/NLF Gold Mountain Scholarship during law school.
Nguyen has also worked as an advocate for the Asian American community. She is a member of St. John’s University School of Law’s Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and served as Alumni Relations Coordinator and Vice-President.
.George W. Peters joins the firm as an associate attorney in the agency’s Lending Department.
He previously worked at Shearman & Sterling LLP’s New York real estate group where he drafted and analyzed purchase and sale agreements, service contracts, and commercial leases.
From 2016-2017 Peters gained substantial drafting and due diligence experience with Weidenbaum & Harari, LLP, He represented cooperatives, condominiums, landlords and business owners in a variety of transactional and litigation matters across New York with Lasser Law Group, PLLC, where he worked as a summer associate and clerk.
Peters graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 2018 where he negotiated loan agreements, resolved title issues and amended corporate documents for HDFCs as a member of Brooklyn Law School’s Corporate and Real Estate Clinic.
He received a bachelor’s degree in 2013 from SUNY Cortland in Political Science and Business Management where he graduated Cum Laude and made Dean’s List for six semesters.

Romer Debbas LLP announced attorney Steven Kirkpatrick has joined the firm as a partner.
Kirkpatrick was previously a partner at Belkin Burden Wenig & Goldman, LLP, and before that, counsel at Greenberg Traurig, LLP.
He frequently lectures and teaches a variety of continuing legal education classes for attorneys on topics relating to ADA litigation and real estate issues.
He also currently serves as Chair of the Litigation Subcommittee of the New York City Bar Association, Real Estate Committee, and as a member of the New York City Building Department’s 2017-2018 Construction Codes Revision Committee – Administrative and Enforcement Advisory Committee.
Kirkpatrick earned his law degree from New York Law School and a master of laws (LL.M.) degree in taxation from New York University School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey.

Cauldwell Wingate Company announced that Andrew Baranello has been promoted to Senior Vice President.
A 30-plus year construction industry veteran, Baranello most recently served as Vice President of Major Buildings Operations with Cauldwell Wingate.
Prior to that, he spent over 15 years building for some of New York City’s most prominent real estate developers.
Baranello earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from St. John’s University and an Associate’s degree in Construction Technology from NYC Technical College.

Pizzarotti announced that Michael Holloway has joined the team as Chief Operating Officer in the New York City office.
Holloway is a seasoned professional with over 40 years of industry experience overseeing projects projects, building over $3.5 billion in real estate, and acting as officer in charge of showcase high-rise projects for Chase Bank, ABC, Trump, Bodsky, Tishman, and numerous others.
Before joining Pizzarotti, Holloway spent nearly 20 years working for Lehrer McGovern, Bovis, LendLease and went on to become Director of Construction at several companies including Gotham Construction, Alexico Group Development, Plaza Construction, Madison Equities and Leeding Builders Group.

MBB (Murphy Burnham & Buttrick Architects) has announced promotions for two team members.
Taylor Aikin, AIA, LEED GA, an experienced practitioner in cultural, educational, and residential work, has been promoted to Associate Partner.
Aikin joined the firm in 2015. A licensed architect in New York, he holds a Master of Architecture from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation, and a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
He is the recipient of Columbia University’s Honors for Excellence in Design, and the AIA Colorado Young Architects Award for Graphic Technology.
He has served as a guest critic at Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, Parsons School of Design, and Pratt Institute, and currently serves as a Program Director on the AIANY Cultural Facilities Committee.
Notable recent works include PS19Q, a new full-building addition to a public school in Queens, and the award-winning Glass Walls project, part of the restoration and renovation of iconic St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
Rebecca Arcaro, AIA, has been elevated to Senior Associate. With over 11 years of experience in the field, Arcaro is as an emerging leader and mentor at MBB.
Arcaro holds a Master of Architecture from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at Columbia College at Columbia University.
She joined Murphy Burnham & Buttrick in August of 2013, and was appointed Associate in 2014 before being elevated to Senior Associate.
Arcaro has played a key role in major cultural projects, including the ongoing renovation and expansion of the Park Avenue Synagogue on the Upper East Side.

JRS Architect, P.C., has named Chris Rudman an Associate at the firm.
Rudman is a member of the American Institute of Architects and is LEED AP-accredited. He joined the firm in 2001 and has served as the lead in the Education and Historic Preservation practices in the New Jersey region.
Rudman has been the lead project architect for many high-profile education clients, including Kean University, Montclair State University, New Jersey City University, Ocean County College, Rutgers University and Seton Hall University.
Rudman has led Historic Preservation projects in both the private and public sectors. Projects include façade and interior restoration for older 20th century financial institutions and roof and window restoration at Liberty Hall’s carriage house at Kean University.

Whitney will play a leadership role with the team’s business development initiatives and will be active in growing the Corporate Interiors and Workplace portfolio in the New York metropolitan area.
Prior to joining Colliers, Whitney was the Director of Business Development at TPG Architecture and, before that, was a BD at Workwell Partners. She attended Becker College.
