Marc Alper, vice president and sales manager at Sabre Real Estate Group, has been appointed an affiliate board member of the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island (CIBS).
Alper, who joined Sabre in 2016, has more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience and over the course of his career he has negotiated property sales valued at more than $400 million. A specialist in investment sales, he previously worked at New York City-based Eastern Consolidated, GFI Realty Inc., Safeguard Realty Management Inc., and WRA Properties.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Boston University.

Nicholas Brannick is a member of the firm’s Bankruptcy and Corporate Restructuring and Litigation Departments.

National Realty & Development Corp. (NRDC), has announced that Harrison Lyss has been promoted to Managing Director of Real Estate Operations.
Lyss began his career with NRDC in 2016 as the Assistant Director of Property Operations.
In his new position, he will be working with the Office of the President on special projects that include leasing, creating property operating efficiences, construction project review and reporting, financing and tech initiatives. Prior to joining NRDC, Lyss worked as a Property Manager for GHP, the office building division for Houlihan-Parnes Realtors where he was responsible for the operation and performance of their commercial real estate portfolio.
Lyss graduated from The University of Arizona with a B.A.in Economics.

Lotus Capital Partners, an independent real estate investment bank led by Faisal Ashraf, has launched a loan sale and distribution business that will serve lenders and investors looking to de-risk and leverage their positions in whole loans, A-notes, and mezzanine debt.
Ashraf has recruited Tim Taylor to lead the initiative. Taylor has spent the better part of 20 years in the debt/distribution space and has transacted with more than 100 firms while leading teams at Merrill Lynch, Cantor Commercial Real Estate (CCRE) and, most recently, Ten-X as its Head of Special Situations.
While working together at CCRE, Taylor and Ashraf led one of Wall Street’s most productive distribution teams, transacting more than $4 billion dollars in private placements during a three-year run.

Following the planned retirement of Kevin R. Smith, PGIM Real Estate has announced key Americas leadership roles for Cathy Marcus and Alfonso Munk.
PGIM Real Estate is the real estate investment business of PGIM, the $1 trillion global investment management businesses of Prudential Financial, Inc.
Smith, most recently head of Americas at PGIM Real Estate, will retire in March 2018 after 36 years at the company.
Cathy Marcus has been named head of the U.S. business, in addition to her role as global chief operating officer.
Since joining the company in 1998, Marcus has served in a range of transactions and portfolio management roles.
As head of the U.S. business, Marcus is responsible for the development and implementation of PGIM Real Estate’s strategy and operations in the United States, and has oversight of U.S. portfolio and asset management.
She continues to globally oversee PGIM Real Estate’s business and investment operations in her capacity as global chief operating officer.
Alfonso Munk will continue in his role as Americas chief investment officer and will serve as head of Latin America.
Munk joined the company in 2012 to help lead the Latin America business, and retained oversight of the day-to-day Latin America operations upon his appointment to Americas chief investment officer in 2015.
Munk continues to oversee the U.S. and Latin America transactions teams in his capacity as Americas chief investment officer.
As head of Latin America, Munk is responsible for the development and implementation of strategy and operations in Latin America, and has oversight of Latin America portfolio and asset management.
Supporting Marcus, Philip Barrett, PGIM Real Estate global chief investment risk officer, has assumed a new and expanded role managing the company’s day-to-day business and investment operations globally.
Len Kaplan, currently head of Customized Investment Strategies, was named global chief investment risk officer.
