WHO’S NEWS: Alan Pfeifer joins Rutenberg, Brenda Powers moves to TOWN

Real estate veteran and one of the founders of REBNY’s New York Residential Specialists (NYRS), Alan Pfeifer has joined Charles Rutenberg as an associate broker.

Expanding the firm’s residential and commercial services. Pfeifer will also work alongside Rutenberg president, Stefani Markowitz to continue to enhance the educational offerings at Rutenberg.

Chairman Emeritus and founding member of REBNY’s advanced post graduate real estate course, NYRS, Pfeifer joins Rutenberg with almost two decades of real estate experience, specializing in sales and rentals of residential and commercial condos, coops, and town houses.

Most recently, he was associated with Douglas Elliman and, prior to that, was with Halstead Property.
In addition to instructing bi-annual education courses at REBNY, Pfeifer teaches at the Academy for Continuing Education.

A native New Yorker who lives on the Upper West Side, he is a member of the Institute for Global Ethics.

TOWN Residential announced that New York City and Miami broker Brenda Powers has joined the firm’s Fifth Avenue office, located at 730 Fifth Avenue and led by president of sales Wendy Maitland and managing director Dorothy Sexton.

Over the course of her 20-plus year career, Powers has sold in excess of $2.2 billion of luxury properties.

With a knowledge of hotels, condominiums, co-operatives and townhouses, she has extended her business to Miami and established her position as the Intercoastal New York-Miami Broker specializing in and around Central Park and Miami Beach.

Powers has achieved record breaking sales across prestigious properties including Residences at the Mandarin Oriental in New York, 50 Central Park South, One Central Park South, as well as Miami’s Oceana, The Edition, The W Hotel and The Fountainbleu.

Powers was a long-time Sotheby’s broker and spent a brief stin at Compass.

Canadian born, she holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Académie de Bordeaux in France, as well as a degree in hotel management from the Centre International de Glion in Switzerland.

Brown Harris Stevens, the exclusive affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate in New York City, the Hamptons and Palm Beach, announced that Jonathan Davis has joined the firm at its Southampton office.

Davis started “On the Inside” (otiluxury.com), an ultra high-end real estate and luxury lifestyle platform that incorporates a print magazine, interactive website and branded events aimed at the most affluent homeowners in the Hamptons, Palm Beach, Miami and Los Angeles.

The Marketing Directors (TMDs) has added Ilana Vakhovskaya as Research Analyst, assisting in market research and reporting.

Vakhovskaya was previously a Senior Research Analyst at PM Digital, where she worked on various market sector studies and competitive intelligence reports for the firm’s existing clients as well as new business prospects.

A resident of New York City, Vakhovskaya earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Syracuse University and an advertising degree from Syracuse’s prestigious S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

Modern Spaces announced that Dana Frankel has been hired as its new Director of Business Development and Community Relations.

Frankel joined the Queens-based firm to further strengthen the relationship that Modern Spaces has with the communities it serves, including Long Island City, Astoria, Williamsburg and Chelsea.

Frankel will be responsible for cultivating new business opportunities for Modern Spaces and planning local events that grow the Modern Spaces brand.

Previously, Frankel served as the director of economic development, planning & BID services for the Long Island City Partnership.

Frankel holds a bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University, where she studied Community and Regional Planning.

She earned her master’s degree in Urban Planning from City University of New York at Hunter College.

The Corcoran Group announced that Michelle E. Griffith, formerly a top-ranked agent with Trump International Realty, has joined the firm.

She will be joining the Corcoran flagship 660 Madison Avenue office.

Prior to her real estate career, Griffith was an award-winning sales and marketing executive in the medical sales field.

She is involved with and dedicated to Room to Read, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing quality education to children around the world, for which she contributes, through her real estate transactions, to the annual support of the education of one child throughout the school year.

Compass announced that Yuval Vidal has joined the company.

With more than 12 years of real estate experience, Vidal was recently ranked the #10 highest grossing producer in New York City at his prior brokerage, Douglas Elliman, for the 2015 calendar year.

Over the span of his career, Vidal has sold more than $350 million worth of New York City real estate and completed more than 100 successful real estate transactions.

Vidal holds an MBA in Finance and Real Estate from the City University of New York, as well as a BS in Computer Science and a BA in Philosophy and Political Science from Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Homes By Mara Realty welcomed Lisa Coscia to its team of agents.

Coscia enters the residential real estate sector after taking a seven year sabbatical from working as an elementary school teacher at St. Kevin’ as well as St. Luke’s, both in Queens, to raise her three children.

While raising her children, Coscia gained insight into the real estate industry while working with her husband, Salvatore, who is a real estate investor.

During this time, Coscia was responsible for examining houses while designing their layouts as well as décor.

Prior to working as an elementary school teacher, Coscia worked at Flushing Savings Bank as a senior teller and supervisor.

Coscia has a Bachelor of Arts in Drama/Theater and from Queens College and a Master of Arts Degree in Education from St. John’s University.

Douglas Elliman Real Estate announced that Jennifer Miller has joined the firm as the Executive Manager of Sales for the Greenwich office.

She is the first to hold this position for the Connecticut office.

Previously, Miller was a Director in institutional sales at Merrill Lynch and then a successful agent at The Corcoran Group, both in Manhattan.

She was consistently among the firm’s top agents, representing a diverse group of clients and selling and renting properties in some of Manhattan’s most notable buildings.

Miller was born and raised in New York City. She earned a BS in Finance from Lehigh University in 1996.

The Corcoran Group announced the appointment of Frank Percesepe to the position of Executive Vice President of Brooklyn and the East End of Long Island.

This is a new position and further expands Percesepe’s management role as head of Corcoran’s Long Island region.

Percesepe, who has successfully led the growth of the Corcoran Brooklyn market for over 15 years, will be responsible for overseeing the management of all East End sales in the Hamptons, Shelter Island and the North Fork markets which include 10 Corcoran sales offices and over 350 agents.

Under Percesepec’s management, Corcoran’s Brooklyn business grew to become the No.1 real estate firm in Brooklyn.

He will work with East End Regional Senior Vice President, Ernie Cervi to develop opportunities for growth.
