Christine Emery has beennamed executive managing director or retail at Murray Hill Properties.
Emery is responsible for both tenant and landlord representation involving strategic planning for a tenant’s initial entry into the U.S. market and the expansion of its existing brand. She is also responsible for the re-use and renewal of urban properties.
Emery’s career began at the South Street Seaport Museum. Her real estate work ranges from the Upper West Side of Manhattan to the Centre Commercial at the Tour Montparnasse in Paris.
The Real Estate Board of New York honored Emery with its 2007 Deal of the Year for placing Hermes at 15 Broad Street.
Emery is a graduate of Barnard College of Columbia University.
Yair H. Staav has joined Murray Hill Properties as executive managing director of retail.
Staav’s career in commercial real estate has been informed by his experience working in his family’s international diamond and jewelry manufacturing business.
He traveled to almost every state in the Union visiting and becoming familiar with the operations and objectives of department stores and independent retailers alike.
His later associations with the art world in Soho familiarized him with the downtown real estate market.
Staav began his real estate career with Garrick-Aug in the late 1980s and quickly became responsible for some of the more pivotal retail developments in Soho, including tenanting the Soho Grand Hotel, Cipriani and Tommy Hilfiger.
With subsequent moves to New Spectrum and then to Lansco in the late 1990s, he joined forces with Christine Emery in 1999 to spearhead an independent real estate team at Lansco.
Staav’s experience in emerging markets has led him to his involvement in the revitalization of the financial district where he has been awarded the Real Estate Board of New York 2007 Deal of the Year award for the Deal that most Significantly Benefits Manhattan.
Barrett Friedman joined the Emey/Staav Team at Murray Hill Properties.
Before joining Murray Hill Properties, Friedman was a director at The Lansco Corporation focusing on both tenancy and landlord solutions.
Barrett spent time in finance as an intern with both Deutsche Bank and Calypso Capital Management LP. He also handle the management, leasing and asset management of his family real estate portfolio.
Friedman graduated from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University in New Orleans with a degree in Management.
Lay D Kissling serves as an associate at Murray Hill Properties.
Kissling started her career in commercial real estate with Terramont Real Estate Services in Montreal, MHP’s affiliate through the worldwide TCN network.
She has a background in property analysis, consulting and construction management and is well versed in the necessities required of tenant representatives.
Kissling graduated from the University of Stuttgart in Germany with a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Entrepreneurship.
She speaks fluently in German and French and is currently studying to obtain her pilot’s license.
Darilynne O. Saunders, has joined Murray Hill Properties as a managing director.
Prior to joining Murray Hill, Saunders was principal at Saunders Realty Advisors LLC, providing consulting services to clients in all aspects of their real estate acquisition/disposition requirements.
Before that, she served as an associate director at Cushman & Wakefield, for 18 years. In that capacity, she was responsible for representing Fortune 500/1000 companies in the acquisition and/or disposition of office space globally.
During her tenure with the firm, she represented noteworthy clients such as, Visiting Nurse Regional Association of Brooklyn, Kasper/Anne Klein, The Motion Picture Editors Guild, The Screen Actors Guild, Ovarian Cancer Research Fund and Surrey Cadillac Limousine.
Darilynne studied Finance and Economics at New York Institute of Institute of Technology.
The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) announced that Michael Skrebutenas, former president of Housing Preservation and Executive Deputy Commissioner at the New York State Housing and Community Renewal (NYSHCR), has joined as senior vice president and regional director of CPC’s Albany office.
Skrebutenas has nearly 20 years of experience in housing and public service both nationally and dedicated to New York State.
While at NYSHCR, he served as President, Housing Preservation and Executive Deputy Commissioner since 2009.
Prior to his work at NYSHCR, he has served as Deputy Secretary, Economic Development and Housing for the New York State Executive Chamber and as a development project manager for various non-profit community development organizations. e also served in the Clinton White House.
Skrebutenas holds a BA in political science from Columbia University, a JD from the University of Connecticut School of Law, and an MS in Urban Planning from the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.
CBRE Group, Inc. announced the addition of Johanna Clark to its Westchester/Connecticut team as marketing manager.
Prior to joining the CBRE, Clark worked in the Los Angeles North office as a graphic designer for one of top agency teams in the Southern California region.
She also served as the team manager, where she managed all operational, financial, staffing, event coordination and administrative functions.
Previously, she was employed at Susan B. Anthony Real Estate in New York City, where she worked as a graphic designer and creative consultant on new business development and brand management.

The Retail Brokerage Network (RBN) announced that Chuck Lanyard will be the incoming national president of RBN.
Lanyard will take the position at the Retail Brokers Network annual meeting in Las Vegas.
A veteran of the retail real estate industry with over 35 years of experience in leasing, planning, development and construction, Lanyard is president of The Goldstein Group.
He is currently a member of the RBN Executive Committee, and a member of its Restaurant Council.
He oversees the largest retail brokerage firm in New Jersey, with a leasing and sales portfolio totaling over 12 million square feet.
He manages the firm’s more than 20 retail brokers and is responsible for The Goldstein Group’s growth and leasing of more than a million square feet of retail space over the past three years.
Prior to this position, Lanyard held a senior position at Levey Companies. During his career, he has represented Barnes & Noble, TJ Maxx, Capital One Bank, Pier 1 Imports, Trader Joe’s, McDonald’s, Applebee’s, Darden Restaurants and TGI Friday’s.
He has leased more than a million square feet of retail space at various lifestyle, powercenter, and neighborhood shopping centers.
Transwestern’s New York office announced that Ken Findley has joined the firm as managing director.
Findley will represent both tenants and landlords in the New York City area, debuting the office’s ability to provide specialized services to healthcare clients.
He joins the firm from ABS Real Estate Partners where he served as managing director/director of medical leasing.
Throughout his career, Findley has represented many notable healthcare tenants such as Gramercy Surgery, Gramercy Park Digestive Disease, Frontier Health Holdings and Physicians Endoscopy.
His leasing assignments have included several well-known New York City buildings, including 200 Park Avenue South, 380 Second Avenue, 10 East 38th Street and 305 Second Avenue.
