WHAT’S ON: BOMA’s big holiday bash, Make-A-Wish members Christmas push

IOREBA Holiday Party

Dec. 3: The Industrial and Office Real Estate Broker Association of New York Metropolitan Area is throwing is annual holiday party at the Highlawn Pavilion in West Orange, New Jersey. The night will be from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Those who pre-register at can attend for free, otherwise the tickets are $110 for members and $150 for non-members.



Dec. 4:  The commercial real estate development association will host Building a Better NJ: Future Proof Your Buildings at the EY Learning Center, 121 River Street, Hoboken, N.J. from 2:30 – 6 p.m. The series will examine the importance of keeping pace with technology to ensure that commercial real estate properties remain viable, desirable and compliant in the future. From tech that changes at warp speed to connectivity and cyber security, NAIOP NJ’s panel of industry experts will address the infrastructure and legal issues that CRE owners, developers and property managers need to understand in order to prepare today’s buildings for the future. Dec 5: The Make-A-Wish Real Estate Council will host a cocktail party with fellow real estate industry professionals coming together to help grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses. Members help fund wishes through both traditional fundraising activities and by lending in-kind services, resources and expertise to help grant design and construction related wishes. The holiday season is one of the busiest times of the years for Make-A-Wish.  Over the last three years this event has raised over a quarter of a million dollars to grant wishes of kids in our community. The party will be held at the Vanderbilt Suite in the MetLife Building, 200 Park Avenue, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Tickets are $80. REBNY Luncheon

Dec. 6: The Queens Chamber of Commerce will recognize 20 projects at its 2018 Annual Building Awards Gala at Terrace on the Park, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens. Dec. 7: Building Owners & Managers Association holds it Holiday Luncheon at the Grandy Hyatt, 109 East 42nd Street. Networking, dining and entertainment from illusionist Darcy Oake. Dec. 12: Russell Shattan, Senior Vice President, MCR Development, will speak on “Up, Up and Away—Developer Previews New Hotel in JFK TWA Terminal” at noon at the Cornell Club, 6 East 44th Street, Ivy Room. Since joining MCR in 2011, Shattan has led the execution of nearly $1.6 billion in hotel transaction volume, including the acquisition of 90 hotels and the development of 16 hotels across the country.
