Securities law firm Sichenzia Ross Ference Kesner signed a 29,278 s/f sublease to relocate its headquarters to Midtown Manhattan from the Financial District.
Alan Bonett and Bradley Cohn of Adams & Co. represented the tenant in the transaction, where the asking rent was $70 per square foot. Bryan Boisi, Adam Ardise and Richard Bernstein of Cushman & Wakefield represented the sub-landlord.
In September 2017, the firm will relocate to the 37th floor of SL Green’s 1185 Avenue of the Americas, which sits between 46th and 47th Streets.
“After years of being headquartered downtown, Sichenzia Ross Ference Kesner made the decision to relocate to Midtown Manhattan, providing a more convenient location for the firm’s employees and clients,” said Bonett, an executive managing director at Adams & Co.
“A few years ago, we saw a mass migration of companies moving downtown. Now, thanks to the development happening on the west side and the rezoning of Midtown East, companies are looking at Midtown again. Many businesses that operate in more traditional industries, like finance, law and insurance, are recognizing that this area provides access to nearly every part of the city and that it will continue to become more convenient as new transit projects, like the LIRR at Grand Central Terminal, come online.”
