RIPCO partners form investment partnership

RIPCO principals Peter Ripka, Todd Cooper, Gene Spiegelman and Mark Kaplan are partnering with one-time Acadia executive Alex Janoff to launch a new investment company.

Sagamore Hill Partners will pursue a retail and mixed-use real estate investments, including both equity and debt, with a primary emphasis on the New York metropolitan area.

“The firm was founded to leverage the partners’ deep relationships and industry expertise to create a top-tier real estate investment and operating platform,” said Janoff, a former acquisitions director with Acadia Realty who worked with Alliance Bernstein and its subsidiary, Prospect Ridge Advisors.

“The retail sector is undergoing an unprecedented period of disruption and we have structured our business to capitalize on an opportunistic investing environment. We believe we’re in an excellent position to identify and execute on strategic opportunities alongside our investment partners.”

Janoff is serving as partner and Chief Investment Officer for the company, which will make direct investments, enter into joint-ventures with current owners and partner with institutions, family offices and high-net-worth individuals.

Kaplan, who will serve as Chief Operating Officer said, “This is a company founded by seasoned real estate professionals who are intimately familiar with the rapidly changing retail market. While we have invested alongside institutions on a select number of acquisitions in the past, we felt timing was ideal to launch a dedicated investment firm.”
