Bareburger returns to Chelsea

After closing their previous Chelsea locations, Bareburger will be opening a new location at 184 Eighth Avenue under the corporate umbrella.

The burger restaurant will have 1,700 sf ground and 1,700 sf cellar. The asking rent by the owner, Eighth-19th Company, LLC, is 240,000/a. The 15-year lease was signed on May 10. The landlord was represented by Buchbinder & Warren Realty Group, LLC’s William Abramson, Daniel Rodriguez Sains, and Matthew Olden. The tenant was represented by BCD’s Jon Paul Pirraglia.

Bareburger is well-known for producing local, organic, & sustainable burgers.

Hummus Kitchen coming to Chelsea

Hummus Kitchen will be opening its third location ay 182 Eighth Avenue and 19th Street.

The Mediterranean fare restaurant signed a 10-year lease with landlord Eighth-19th Company, LLC, on May 1. The asking rent is

$150,000/a for 1,000 sf ground and 1,550 sf cellar space. Both the landlord and tenant were represented by Buchbinder & Warren Realty Group, LLC’s William Abramson and Matthew Olden.

Prior to this lease, Hummus Kitchen already had two locations in Manhattan and another restaurant in Brooklyn.

China Chain Xiao Long Kan Hot Pot to make U.S. debut in Flushing

Tangram, a 1.2 million sf mixed-use development in Flushing, will soon be home to Xiao Long Kan Hot Pot, a popular hotpot chain in China. For its first location in North America, Xiao Long Kan has committed to a 5,000 sf U.S. flagship store at Tangram, located at 133-47 39th Avenue, that is projected to open in the summer of 2020. Xiao Long Kan will soon have more than 1,000 locations around the globe.

Brian Weld, executive managing director of Cushman & Wakefield, represented the tenant in the transaction along with Jennifer Song and Steven C. Rockefeller III. Seth Kessler of SCG Retail was the exclusive retail leasing agent for the project. Ian Rice was another SCG retail broker representing Tangram.

Now nearing completion, Tangram will have 275,000 sf of retail.
