Publisher Informa PLC takes 59,613 s/f at Fisher Brothers’ 605 Third Avenue

Fisher Brothers signed a 10-year, 59,613 s/f lease with Informa PLC at 605 Third Avenue, a 1.1 million square foot, Class-A office tower in Midtown Manhattan.

Occupying three full floors, the 20th through 22nd, at 605 Third Avenue, Informa will relocate in the first quarter of 2018 from multiple locations.

Informa is an international academic publishing, business intelligence, exhibitions and events business, publicly quoted on the London Stock Exchange. Informa recently acquired US-based Penton Information Services, adding to its footprint and scale across the country.

“Informa’s presence in the US has steadily expanded over the last five years. Having acquired Penton in late 2016, we have taken the opportunity to bring five of our New York locations together into a single base. 605 Third Avenue represents a modern, high quality and flexible space, and we are looking forward to creating a new hub for Informa in Midtown that our colleagues can be proud of,” said Geoff Scott, Property Strategy Manager for Informa.

Informa was represented in the transaction by Chris Corrinet, Peter Gamber, Robert Hill, and Michael Movshovich of CBRE.  Fisher Brothers was represented in-house by Marc Packman and Clark Briffel, as well as Bruce Mosler, Louis D’Avanzo, Andrew Ross, Michael Baraldi, and Maria Travlos of Cushman & Wakefield.

“The reimagined 605 Third Avenue continues to attract a wide range of world-class companies that are seeking a fully modernized environment with distinctive design in a convenient Midtown location,” said Fisher Brothers Partner Ken Fisher.  “We are pleased to welcome Informa to our esteemed tenant roster.”

“605 Third provided Informa a unique value proposition marrying prominent identity, efficient floor plates with great light and views, a high quality renovation and excellent long-term partners in Fisher Brothers,” said Mr. Movshovich.  “Informa’s colleagues are very excited to come together within one space after many years working in multiple locations.”

Fisher Brothers recently completed a $25 million capital improvement program at 605 Third Avenue. The centerpiece of the project was the creation of a brand new building entrance and lobby, designed by award-winning architect David Rockwell and the Rockwell Group.

The entrance of the building was extended out onto the plaza which allowed it to create a more spacious lobby, includinga feature wall composed of brass panels and a sleek white ceiling with LED backlighting.  In addition, David Rockwell and the LAB at Rockwell Group worked with Fisher Brothers to install two oversized digital glass windows, each composed of 900 translucent tiles, which have been designed and programed to function as giant kaleidoscopes featuring a continuous series of computer-generated patterns. These unique panels function as a form of public art visible from within the lobby as well as to passersby on the plaza.

605 Third Avenue’s roster of tenants includes Univision, AECOM, Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP, Jones Day, Katsy Korins LLP, and the United Nations Population Fund.

Originally built by Fisher Brothers in 1963, 605 Third Avenue was recently certified LEED Gold by the U.S. Green Building Council.
