Done Deals: Roundup of the week in residential sales

In a metropolis like greater New York, people can spend a lot of time sitting in traffic.

For a recent set of buyers, a Manhattan pied-a-terre was the cure to their commuting blues, reports Citi Habitats agent Rory Bolger.

Bolger recently sold #16E at 300 East 54th Street for the full asking price of $715,000 – one of the highest prices per square foot for a one-bedroom in the building.

The condo’s seller was moving to New Jersey for more space and to be closer to his family. Meanwhile, the new buyers were a family from Somerset County, New Jersey who were fed up with their nearly 2-hour morning commute.

“Both the wife and daughter work long hours in the banking industry here in Manhattan,” Bolger explained. “While they love their home in Central Jersey, the trip back-and-forth each day was just too much.

“Their new apartment is just a 10-minute stroll to work for both mom and daughter — a true game-changer for them.”

The home was on the market for one week and Bolger repped both buyer and seller.
