NAMC recognizes Diversity Champ

Janell Walker of EW Howell Construction Group has been honored with a 2018 Diversity Champion award from the New York Tri-State Chapter of the National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC).

The NAMC is the oldest minority construction trade association in the country. Presented along with awards in six other categories during the association’s inaugural Holiday Gala at Terrace on the Park, the Diversity Champion award is given to individuals that support the advancement of diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and who have exceeded their diversity requirements on public projects.

At EW Howell, one of the region’s leading education, retail, cultural, government and healthcare builders, Janell works to maximize economic opportunity and job creation efforts for Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (MWDBE), of which the firm is a strong supporter.

As EW Howell’s MWDBE coordinator, she launched and developed a firmwide program that is committed to providing opportunities to MWDBE firms throughout the life of a project.

Janell serves as the point of contact between potential bidders, the estimating department, operations and the client.
