Law firm takes full floor at Durst’s 1155 Ave. of Americas

The Durst Organization announced that Freeborn and Peters LLP has signed a six-year and one-month lease for 16,563 square foot on the entire 26th floor of 1155 Avenue of the Americas.

The law firm is moving from 230 Park Avenue to a prebuilt floor at 1155.

“We are thrilled to welcome Freeborn to Sixth Avenue and the Durst portfolio,” said Jonathan (Jody) Durst, President of The Durst Organization.

“Our prebuilt portfolios provide tenants with a human-centered approach to office design that optimizes natural light, views and access to outside clean air.  Our goal is to create spaces where our tenants are not only healthy and productive but thrive.”

Freeborn was represented by Executive Vice President Matthew McBride of CBRE. The Durst Organization was represented in-house by Senior Managing Director Rocco Romeo and Senior Leasing Associate Tanya Grimaldo.

1155 Avenue of the Americas was competed in 1984 and designed by Emery Roth & Sons. The building, LEED v4 Silver certified under the EBOM rating system (Existing Buildings Operations Maintenance), has undergone a $130 million capital improvement program. 1155’s upgrades include a new lobby, new elevator cabs and destination dispatch controls, new windows throughout and enhanced floor-to-ceiling glass that takes advantage of the building’s chamfered corners. In addition, a tenant exclusive 8,000 square foot custom roof-top pavilion with a 4,000 square foot wraparound terrace is currently available for a multi-floor tenant.
