Located at 216 Third Avenue, at 19th Street, the 30-seat restaurant is now open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Founded in 1960 in India by S. Attar Singh Chawla, Chawla’s 2 now has 110 locations in India, is one of the largest franchise businesses in the country, and has expanded to Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

Now, Jagdeep Singh, who was born in New Delhi, has purchased the master franchise to the entire United States, so that he can bring this beloved food to America.

Singh first opened a Queens location in 2015 to test how the Chawla’s 2 US offering appealed to American palates.

With Queens an instant success, Singh was pleased next to find the ideal Gramercy location for the first Manhattan restaurant.

Singh is now in discussions with those seeking to invest in the Chawla concept in the US.
