REW TV at ICSC RECon: Douglas Elliman’s Faith Hope Consolo on retail trends

Faith Hope Consolo remains optimistic about retail, saying that owners and developers remain eager to close deals.

“This year, I see a lot of energy. I know that retail has suffered a little bit, got a little banging from Wall Street. But I’m finding the owners and the developers are very, very interested in making deals. There’s a lot of exciting things going on. There’s some wonderful trends in fitness, in fashion, in food; lots of food halls, lots of new restaurants,” she said.

Perhaps her optimism is based on the amount of deals she’s working on, particularly with creative retailers.

“I am working on several large deals. I’m working Downtown and the Financial District with a series of designers, six different designers in one roof from one country, which hasn’t been done before,” she said.
