Butcher shop Hudson & Charles signed a ten-year lease for a store at 526 Hudson Street in the West Village. The annual rent for 675 s/f of storefront and 600 s/f of basement space is $132,000. Corcoran agent Dominic Coluccio represented the tenant directly to the building owner, Bruce Camacho. The new West Village butcher shop sells meat from locally raised, grass-fed animals, as well as prepared foods, custom cutting, house made pates and terrines, sausages, sandwiches, craft beers and ciders. Everything is made in house. The shop, run by partners Kevin Haverty, Adam Gale, and Jason Fox, owns a license to age meats nose to tail on premises.

The Union Square neighborhood ended 2013 with a vacancy rate of just 1.2 percent, according to the Union Square Partnership, but the BID wants you to know that there are several opportunities available for retailers to join Whole Foods Market, Paragon Sports, the Blue Fin restaurant, Strand Books, Babies ’R Us and that statue of George Washington on one of the city’s most popular public squares. “At a moment when retailers may think there are no marquee sites available in Union Square, a few spaces have come online, presenting a chance for retailers to create something unique and iconic in one of the busiest neighborhoods in New York City,” Jennifer Falk, executive director of the partnership, said in a statement.
