AAMCO taps CBRE to expand franchise

AAMCO Transmissions and Total Car Care, the automotive repair brand, has retained CBRE as its agent to create and execute an expansion program throughout the country.

CBRE retail specialists Patti AmecAngelo and Joe AmecAngelo, both based at the firm’s East Brunswick, New Jersey office, will oversee the targeted leasing campaign on behalf of AAMCO.

Patti and Joe will work with AAMCO real estate and Franchise Development executives to find locations for new and existing franchisees across the country, with an initial focus on New York, New Jersey, Florida, Texas, Arizona, and Georgia, to strategically grow the company’s base in targeted areas around the region.

“The current market conditions have demonstrated the essential nature of automotive service companies such as AAMCO, making them a highly attractive tenant for property owners in challenging economic times,” said Ms. AmecAngelo.

The Philadelphia-based automotive repair company is targeting high-profile locations in suburban markets with approximately 3,000 to 5,500 sq. ft. of space. Optimal sites would be 4,500 sq. ft. and include end-cap and stand-alone locations with parking for more than 10 cars, high traffic volume and visibility with easy access to major roads.

“We are excited to renew our relationship with CBRE as we accelerate growth in targeted U.S. markets. AAMCO centers specialize in diagnostics and complex repairs which creates increasing interest for AAMCO franchises in the current climate of ever-increasing vehicle complexity,” said Brian O’Donnell, Chief Strategy Officer, AAMCO Transmissions and Total Car Care.

Before joining CBRE, Patti and Joe represented AAMCO at their previous firm and arranged more than 50 transactions across the country for the automotive repair giant. The team was once again retained after a three-year hiatus.
