WHO’S NEWS: Rockett to IPA, Du Yoo & Will Wang join HAP

Institutional Property Advisors (IPA), a division of Marcus & Millichap specializing in serving institutional and major private real estate investors, announce that Nat Rockett will lead the New York team of Marcus & Millichap’s new national IPA office and industrial properties division.

The division specializes in providing office and industrial property advisory, brokerage and capital markets services to institutional and major private investors through highly experienced brokerage teams across the country.

Previously with Cushman & Wakefield, Rockett has closed more than 70 transactions totaling $6.5 billion during his 20 years in investment sales in New York City.

His track record covers a broad spectrum of asset types and transaction structures, including the sale of office properties, development parcels, retail properties, multifamily buildings, leasehold interests and mortgages. He is located in the firm’s Manhattan office.

Friedland Realty Advisors announced that Sarah Jones-Maturo has been named president of the company.

Jones-Maturo will oversee day-to-day operations, with a particular focus on recruiting and internal training efforts.

She will work alongside Founder and CEO Bob Friedland and work out of the company’s Harrison headquarters.

Jones-Maturo spent her entire career at CBRE, being promoted three times and most recently serving as first vice president.
Throughout her time at the company she represented clients such as Sprint, Sony, Dow Jones and Aeropostale. In 2014 and 2015 alone, Jones-Maturo transacted over one million square feet of office deals.

Jones-Maturo has received numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. In 2013, she was appointed to the highly selective CBRE National Brokerage Advisory Board.
The appointment of Jones-Maturo follows the November announcement that Robert Martin Company had made a significant investment in Friedland Realty.
Jones-Maturo received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Holy Cross.

Cushman & Wakefield announced that Diana D. Boutross has joined the Tri-State Retail Services Group as Executive Vice President.

Boutross, a veteran of the real estate industry with more than two decades of experience, will be charged with accelerating the growth of the firm’s outer boroughs practice.
She will collaborate with Cushman & Wakefield’s Tri-State Region retail services group to build and expand relationships with tenants and landlords.

Boutross joins Cushman & Wakefield from Winick Realty Group, where she was an Executive Vice President, specializing in tenant and landlord representation in Manhattan, the outer boroughs and the Tri-State Area.

She was integral in bringing Outback Steakhouse and World of Beer to New York, leased the first Whole Foods in the Williamsburg market, and was instrumental in introducing the Starbucks Coffee Company retail stores to the outer boroughs in her role as the exclusive brokerage professional for the coffee giant.

She has represented such retailers as NY Sports Club, JPMorgan Chase Bank, Chipotle, Bank of America, Khim’s Millennium Market, and Nick Arrojo of TV’s “What Not To Wear.”

On the landlord side, Ms. Boutross has arranged leases for prominent developers and property owners including, The Related Companies, Durst Organization, BLDG Management, Federal Realty Investment Trust, Tishman Speyer, Rudin Management, Emmes Asset Management, Naftali, L&M Development, Acadia Realty Trust, Capstone Equities, General Growth Properties and many others.

Previous to Winick Realty Group, Boutross worked with Murray Hill Properties, Tri-Star Properties and Aegis Properties in both leasing and investment sales.
She is a graduate of Pace University, with a degree in finance.

RKF has welcomed Zach Mishaan to its New York office as vice president.
He will be responsible for all aspects of investment sales and creating new retail leasing opportunities.

Mishaan joins RKF with significant retail brokerage experience and a specialization in investment sales.

He was previously a Senior Managing Director with Winick Realty Group. In his 12 years there, Mishaan arranged more than 65 property sales and was involved in multi-million dollar leasing transactions, including many for Duane Reade and AT&T.
Prior to his career in real estate, Mishaan worked in the apparel industry for 20 years.

Venable LLP has made a prominent addition to its Corporate Compliance Group with the arrival of Don Andrews, a compliance and risk management attorney with senior experience in both regulatory enforcement and the corporate suite at some of the country’s leading financial and wealth management firms.

He joins the firm as a partner in the New York office.
Andrews was most recently Chief Compliance Officer and Director of Risk Management at Bessemer Trust, a wealth management and investment advisory firm.

He previously served as Chief Compliance Officer for Van Kampen Investments, a mutual fund complex with over $80 billion under management. He also served as Deputy General Counsel at EVEREN Securities. His resume also includes a stint as a government enforcement lawyer. He rose to become both a Special Trial Counsel and Branch Chief in the SEC’s Division of Enforcement.

Andrews received his J.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Kent Law School. He earned an M.A. from Harvard University and his B.A. from Elmhurst College.

Highcap Group announced the appointment of Christopher Kennedy as an investment sales associate.

Previously, Kennedy was an analyst at a mortgage bank where he became acquainted with the financing component of the industry.

He attended Hofstra University in Long Island to obtain his BBA in Finance.
At Highcap, he will specialize in representing his clients in the acquisition and disposition of multifamily and development properties.

Hunt Mortgage Group announced that Raymond J. (RJ) Guttroff has joined the firm as Managing Director. He will be based in the New York office.

Guttroff will focus on loan production, with particular emphasis on Hunt Mortgage Group’s proprietary loan products.

Guttroff brings more than 15 years of commercial real estate experience to his new role at Hunt Mortgage Group.

He joins the firm from Barclays where he was a director leading a national team of originators and underwriters. Earlier in his career he worked at a number of other key financial and real estate institutions in a variety of capacities including: Deutsche Bank, Securities Greystone & Co., Nomura Securities and UBS Warburg.

Guttroff is a graduate from the University of Vermont and the New York University Real Estate Institute.

HAP Investments LLC announced that Du Yoo and Will Wang have joined the firm as analysts.

Du Yoo joins HAP Investments’ business development team in and will work in various areas, including acquisition analysis, due diligence, and report development.

His prior experience ranges from design to brokerage and planning, at companies including Douglas Elliman and The Empire State Development Corporation.

He was also involved in architectural design at SAMOO Architects & Engineers, an architectural firm in South Korea.

Yoo holds a M.S in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Southern California.

Will Wang comes to HAP Investments’ acquisitions & development team from Case Property Services, where he worked with senior management on distressed CMBS loans.

He received a Master’s Degree in Real Estate from NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate and a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Shanghai University of Finance & Economics.

Wang is also enrolled in the CFA Program and has passed all three levels of the CFA Exam.

Townes previously worked with Welco Realty for five years where he represented a combination of landlords and retail tenants.

He has expertise in assisting retailers looking to expand in the New Jersey and Rockland County, New York areas. Clients include Sport Clips, Moe’s Southwest Grill, MedExpress, Once Upon A Child, Title Boxing Club, Elements Massage Spa, and Plato’s Closet.
Yownes has also worked with a number of landlords and REITs such as Urban Edge.

Pliskin Realty & Development announced the appointment of Jaclyn Kramer as assistant bookeeper.

Kramer will support the firm’s accounting team through accurate reporting, verification and analysis of tenant accounts. She also is involved in organizing and maintaining residential leases, and addressing tenant inquiries. Kramer is a New York State Notary Republic.

Directly prior to joining Pliskin, Kramer served as an Accounts Payable Specialist in the Accounts Payable Department of Brite Computers.

Kramer’s prior work experience also includes her position as a Promotional Sales Employee with Karma Culture LLC, a manufacturer of Karma Wellness Water.

Kramer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration: Management from the State University of New York at Fredonia where she made the Dean’s List for seven consecutive semesters and was a member of the Delta Mu Delta – International Honor Society in Business Administration.

JLL has hired James Schroeder as a senior vice president in its New Jersey office.
His responsibilities will include new business development, as well as providing tenant representation services and client relationship management throughout New Jersey.

Schroeder has more than 17 years of experience in the Northern New Jersey real estate market, assisting corporate clients in the education, healthcare and engineering sectors in developing and implementing real estate strategies.

His clients have included BASF Corporation, Lincoln Educational Services Corporation, Louis Berger and Hatch Mott MacDonald. Schroeder has transacted more than 3.5 million square feet during his career in real estate.

Prior to joining JLL, Schroeder served as a senior vice president with a major brokerage firm in Northern New Jersey.

Previously, he was regional sales manager in the New York metropolitan area for Novartis Pharmaceuticals. He was recognized by Novartis as its top Northeast sales representative in 1994 and 1995.

Schroeder earned a bachelor’s degree from Montclair State University.

CBRE’s Assessment & Consulting Services division has promoted Jason O. Lind to Senior Vice President.

The announcement was made by Linda A. Bryson, Senior Managing Director of CBRE’s Assessment & Consulting Services, who previously held this position and who was recently promoted to oversee the daily operations of the division.

Since joining IVI Assessment Services in September 2012, (acquired by CBRE in December 2014), Lind has rapidly grown the company’s premier client base.
With over 15 years in real estate acquisitions and finance, his market knowledge and motivation have become hallmarks of his success.

In his new role, Lind will be will be responsible for directing Assessment & Consulting Service’s business development team across the United States and assuring that client’s needs are met and that CBRE’s high level of service and quality continues.

Lind has a Bachelor of Science – International Relations from the University of California Davis where he was a four time all conference athlete in Track and Field.
