Murray Hill Properties LLC/MHP Real Estate Capital LLC has hired Jason Sander as managing director, New Business Development/Capital Raising.
Sander will focus on raising Fund/co-GP/Programmatic JV and LP equity capital for the company’s “off market” NYC office/mixed use acquisitions pipeline.
Prior to joining MHP, Sander worked on capital and deal sourcing assignments for several of the largest New York City based real estate private equity companies and real estate families.
He was VP Capital Raising for Thor Equities, where he worked on sourcing all of Thor’s direct deal and JV program equity capital in the US, Europe and Mexico.
Previously, he was principal, Mercury Capital Advisors, the former Merrill Lynch Private Funds Group.
He also worked for John A. Catsimatidis (Forbes 400), chairman of the Red Apple Group and United Refining, where he was in charge of deal sourcing for URX, a $450 million Special Purpose Acquisition Corp (SPAC).
Sander holds a Masters in Public Policy from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA).
He also completed his advanced real estate studies at Columbia Business School.

East River Partners (ERP) has named Jenny Bernellthe new director of development.

Prior to joining ERP, Bernell served as project director at New York City Economic Development Corporation’s (NYCEDC) Capital Division, where she managed the design and construction of hundreds of millions of dollars of interagency buildings, infrastructure and park projects within New York City.
Prior to working at NYCEDC, Bernell was project manager at Leggat McCall Properties, a Boston-based developer.
Before that, she worked with Winn Development on the acquisition, conversion and rehabilitation of multi-family rental housing in the Boston area. She has worked for the New York office of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, for Robert A.M. Stern Architects, and for Elkus Manfredi Architects.
Bernell holds a Masters of Architecture degree from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University.

Ginny A. Carita, RPA, has joined Prism Capital Partners, LLC as senior property manager.
She is heading management of the firm’s Princeton Pike Corporate Center, an eight-building, 800,000 s/f Class A office park in Lawrenceville.
Carita brings more than 25 years of experience in commercial property management.
She is part of the Bloomfield, N.J., commercial real estate investment company’s Prism Property Services division, which is responsible for overseeing daily operations at all of its owned and managed properties.
Prism Capital Partners, in a joint venture with Angelo, Gordon & Co., acquired Princeton Pike earlier this year.
Prior to joining Prism, Carita was with Advance Realty Group.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from Crest College, and holds a New Jersey Real Estate license as well as an RPA Designation from BOMI International.

First Service Residential, previously known as Cooper Square Realty, is pleased to announce that Steven Hirsch, Marc Kotler and Tom Padilla have been promoted to the position of senior vice president.
The trio will assume executive oversight for several property management groups within the organization.

Steven Hirsch joined FirstService Residential as executive vice president in 2010 when the company purchased Goodstein Management.
He began his career with Goodstein as a portfolio property manager, was later promoted to assistant director of operations, and ultimately rose to director of management.
A real estate management professional for more than 25 years, he has been a member of the Real Estate Board of New York’s Residential Management Council since 2011.
Hirsch earned a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Albany.
Marc Kotler, a ten-year veteran of FirstService Residential, has spent more than two decades as a real estate professional.
Kotler was previously vice president of New Development.
Tom Padilla joined the company as a portfolio property manager in 1995. He was promoted to vice president in 2005 when he began managing a team of more than 20 property managers.
Padilla assumed management of the company’s New Jersey portfolio in 2010. He has earned The Cooperator’s Leadership in Management Award as well as the National Association of Home Builders’ RAM of the Year Award.
Padilla holds a degree in management from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Sahra Dalfen and Jody E. Saltzman have joined the firm’s Corporate Finance & Securities Practice and Commercial Real Estate Practice, respectively.
Sahra Dalfen has a broad corporate practice, including significant M&A and securities experience, with a particular focus on representing companies in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
Dalfen also advises domestic and foreign clients on U.S. corporate governance issues and securities law compliance matters.
Jody Saltzman has considerable experience negotiating commercial leases nationwide on behalf of tenants. She also handles commercial finance matters dealing with trade finance, including factoring, receivables financing, and other forms of lending arrangements.
Dalfen earned her J.D., cum laude, from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, and her B.A. from McGill University.
Saltzman earned her J.D., cum laude, from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, and her B.F.A. from New York University.

Massey Knakal Realty Services announced that Andrew Posil will join the firm as a director of sales, Hospitality.
Posil earned his Juris Doctor degree from Emory University School of Law. He earned a Masters of Science degree in Real Estate from John Hopkins University’s Carey School of Business, and was a member of the JHU’s NCAA championship men’s lacrosse team.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina.
Prior to joining Massey Knakal, the bulk of Andrew’s experience was as a real estate private equity analyst with MCB Real Estate in Baltimore.
His additional professional experiences include internships with Albertelli Law in Tampa, Florida, and the office of the General Counsel at St. John Knits, Inc. in Irvine, California.
He also spent time as an independent real estate consultant working with a development group in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The New York office of Lee & Associates Commercial Real Estate Services announced Brett J. Zelner joined the firm as an executive managing director and principal.
Zelner will focus on retail and office leasing for regional, national, and international clients.
He comes to Lee NYC after 29 years at Lansco, where he served as a tenant representative for numerous office and retail clients, including Scott Trade, the General Services Administration, and state and private colleges.

CPEX Real Estate Services announced that Stephen Naidu has joined its Development & Conversion Investment Sales Team as an associate.
Having participated in the CPEX Mentorship Program, Naidu will assist in the analysis of market data and development of business relationships.
Naidu’s previous vocations and internships have included insurance sales for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, commercial banking distressed asset analysis with PNC Bank, and most recently a position at New York City tech start-up Yext, Inc. as an Enterprise Operations Specialist.
He graduated from Colgate University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Economics.

With over 20 years of marketing and sales experience, Paret will be an integral part in the expansion of the firm.
Paret has sales experience in a multitude of industries. Having obtained his Bachelor’s in Business Economics from Rutgers University, he started his career selling to retail stores in the Telecommunications industry.
He has also worked at Ursillo Realty in their commercial, industrial and land division. Most recently he was director of sales as a pharmaceutical representative in the medical field.

Robert Rosenthal, the former Assistant Counsel for Energy and the Environment to New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo has joined the international law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP.
He will serve as of counsel in the Environmental and Energy practices in the firm’s Albany office.
Prior to joining the Governor’s office, Rosenthal spent 16 years at the New York State Attorney General’s Office in the Environmental Protection Bureau.
Rosenthal will focus his practice on environmental and energy law matters, including litigation and permitting.
He is experienced with the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act – and associated state programs, the New York Solid Waste Management Act and the New York Public Service Law.
Rosenthal will also concentrate his practice on State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA).
He holds a J.D., cum laude, from Temple University School of Law and a B.S. from Rutgers University.
