Massey Knakal Realty Services has entered the hospitality market with the hiring of a dedicated sales agent to exclusively cover the hospitality sector of the New York metro area. Andrew Posil, who joined the firm as a Director of Sales, Hospitality, will be the spearheading Massey Knakal’s hospitality sales.
Following the same blueprint of success of the firm’s investment sales, retail leasing and capital services divisions, Massey Knakal will track and monitor New York’s hospitality market in its entirety while, simultaneously, working with hotel owners to underwrite, market and execute sales of their hotel properties.

Lee & Associates New Jersey announced that Doug Gaffney has joined the firm as senior vice president.
Gaffney adds a significant boost to the office tenant representation team while enhancing its strong presence in the New Jersey and New York marketplace.
With 25 years of experience providing industrial and office brokerage services, Gaffney comes to Lee & Associates with an impressive resume that includes the Schultz Organization, where he was senior managing director for the last decade, Trammell Crow Company as managing director and the former Edward S. Gordon Company, which later merged with CBRE.
Gaffney’s recent track record in the office sector includes more than 300,000 square feet of Class A leasing on behalf of firms such as the Robert Half International, Investors Bank, Carroll, McNulty and Kull, and the Blume Goldfaden.
On the industrial side, Gaffney represented American Van Equipment in its build-to-suit lease of 130,000 square feet and Green Distribution’s acquisition of 100,000 square feet in the Meadowlands.
Notable transactions in Gaffney’s career include the leasing of more than 700,000 square feet of transactions on behalf of American Express (following the events of 9/11) the disposition of the NY Times’ 580,000-square-foot facility in Carlstadt and representation of many growing financial services firms’ space negotiation in Short Hills and Parsippany.
Gaffney earned his degree in finance at Lehigh University, attended the New York Institute of Finance and completed various commercial design courses at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan.

Jones Lang LaSalle has hired Nigel Lightas a vice president with its Project and Development Services group.

Based out of the firm’s Stamford, Conn., office, Light will lead JLL’s Quantity Surveying/Cost Management team in the Northeast and support the growth of JLL’s project management efforts in the higher education, retail, health care, corporate interiors, infrastructure and critical system sectors.
Light, 54, has more than 30 years of experience in commercial real estate, assisting clients with quantity surveying, budgeting, cost control, cash flow forecasting and financial reporting. Prior to joining JLL, he served as pre-construction manager for KBE Building Corp. Earlier, he was chief estimator for Walsh Brothers in Boston, Mass.. Before that, Light was the chief estimating engineer for Turner Construction Co.’s special projects and interiors division in Milford, Conn.
Previously, he served as senior estimating engineer for Turner Construction Co. Light’s first position in the United States was sales engineer for United Millwork in New Haven, Conn.
Prior to emigrating to the United States in 1996, Light served as technical manager for Schachat Cullum (Pty) Ltd. in South Africa. Earlier, he was a contract quantity surveyor/estimator with Murray and Roberts in Swaziland, and a contract quantity surveyor/chief buyer with the LTA Group of Companies in South Africa.
Light earned a higher national diploma for building surveyors at Cape Technikon in Cape Town, South Africa.

As part of her prior responsibilities, Ms. Scharbach also oversaw the Bureau’s resort offerings in the State of New York and throughout the United States and other international venues.

Massey Knakal Realty Services announced that Robert DiBiase has transitioned to director of Townhouse Sales. His focus will be on South Park Slope.
Robert brings over 15 years of sales and customer service experience to Massey Knakal. In his previous roles, Robert was responsible for recruiting, training and mentoring commissioned sales people.
Most recently, Robert was assistant vice president at Atlantic & Pacific Real Estate in McLean, Virginia. He was Vice President/General Manager of LendingTree/RealEstate.com, and also a Regional Sales Manager where he monitored every aspect of an agent’s activity and sales cycle.
He began his career at Foxtons, Inc., as a Listing Agent.
He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Rutgers University in Piscataway, New Jersey.

Andrew earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Bates College. He was a starting defender for the school’s men’s varsity lacrosse team. Andrew also spent a semester studying abroad in Stockholm, Sweden where he studied Comparative Public Policy, World Economics and Globalization.
Prior to Massey Knakal, Andrew was an Intern at CAMFormulas.com, an internet start-up company in Wellesley, MA. Andrew also spent time as an Assistant Bar Manager at Summer Shack in Dedham, MA, a Sales Representative at L.L. Bean in Dedham, and an Operating Room Technician at Milton Hospital in Milton, MA.

Matthew is pursuing a Master of Science degree in Finance from Pace University’s Lubin School of Business. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance, with a minor in Real Estate, graduating in three years from University of Mississippi’s Holman School of Business.
While there, Matthew was a wide receiver on the OleMiss Football team and served as Vice President of the Real Estate Finance Association.
