WHO’S NEWS: CBRE Promotions, JLL expands

CBRE Group, Inc. announced a series of executive leadership promotions:
Jim Reid will assume new leadership responsibilities as chief operating officer, the Americas, overseeing the financial and operational management of the region.

In addition, he will have executive oversight for CBRE’s Asset Services, Valuation and Advisory, and Canada businesses.

Reid was previously president of CBRE’s U.S. Eastern Division.
Michael Caffey has been promoted to president of CBRE’s Texas and Oklahoma division. He was previously executive managing director, Texas and Oklahoma.

Chris Connelly has been promoted to president of CBRE’s Midwest division. He was previously executive managing director, Chicago region.

Mary Jo Eaton has been promoted to president of CBRE’s Florida and Latin America divisions. She was previously executive managing director, Florida.
Caffey and Connelly and Eaton join John Ferguson, president, Southeast Division; Lew Horne, president, GLA/OC Division and Matt Van Buren, president, Northeast Division; and Steve Swerdlow, president, West Division; as CBRE’s division presidents in the U.S.

CBRE Group, Inc. announced that Tricia Shay has joined the company as a Managing Director, Occupier Services, responsible for CBRE’s transaction management account business for the New York Tri-State Region.

Located in CBRE’s Midtown Manhattan office, Shay brings more than 20 years of real estate experience to the firm, most recently having been with Weight Watchers International, where she was Vice President of Real Estate for North America and Field Operations for the Eastern U.S.
Prior to that, she worked with Johnson Controls’ Global Workplace Solutions group in Long Island for 15 years, beginning as a lease administrator and rising through the ranks to become Vice President and General Manager for National Accounts.

Shay is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of New York. She graduated from Dowling College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.

JLL recently expanded its executive team in New York with the promotion of five professionals.
Lisa Kiell, Kenneth Siegel and Derek Trulson, senior members of JLL’s New York brokerage team, were promoted to vice chairman from managing director.

Vincent Knoll and Dana Robbins Schneider, senior members of the firm’s Project and Development Services group in New York, were promoted to managing director from senior vice president.
Lisa Kiell is responsible for planning and implementing transaction strategies for a wide range of clients in the New York metropolitan area and globally, with a focus on technology, law firm and financial services clients.
She has extensive experience providing strategic brokerage and implementation services to clients developing and executing real estate plans.

Kiell leads the Women’s Group in New York for JLL, focusing on the retention and promotion of future leaders. She also co-leads JLL’s National Law Firm Group practice in New York.

Prior to joining JLL, Kiell worked in real estate development/leasing for LCOR in Jersey City and as an auditor for PriceWaterhouse Coopers (successor by merger to Coopers & Lybrand).

She earned a master’s degree in real estate development from New York University and bachelor’s degree in accounting from Emory University. Kiell is a certified public accountant and a licensed real estate broker in New York.

Kenneth Siegel is a senior leader of the firm’s Tenant Representation practice in New York.
He manages relationships with national and global occupier clients, and leads tenant representation assignments for clients in New York and the metro area. Siegel’s tenant representation expertise spans portfolio master planning, transaction strategy and execution. He also co-leads JLL’s National Law Firm Group practice in New York.

Prior to joining JLL, Siegel worked in the real estate finance group at Cowen & Co., at Solow Building Co. and was a CPA at Price Waterhouse.

He received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, graduating magna cum laude, and earned his master’s degree in real estate and finance from Columbia Business School.

Derek Trulson oversees New York-based and national client transaction management, business development, and identification of local and national strategic growth opportunities.
He represents corporations with complex strategic and organizational issues defined by facilities, construction, technology and personnel. Trulson established JLL’s Financial Industry Practice and Operational Planning Practice.

Trulson began his career as a developer and construction project manager.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington Building Construction Program. Trulson is a licensed salesperson in New York.

Vincent Knoll is a member of the firm’s Project and Development Services group and the senior member of its Healthcare Practice in the Northeast.

He has more than 32 years of expertise in healthcare development and construction, and has overseen healthcare-related construction projects in 15 states.

Prior to joining JLL, Knoll served as vice president with Kessler Rehabilitation Corporation and with Select Medical.

Robbins Schneider leads JLL’s Energy and Sustainability Services group in a region anchored by New York, Boston and Washington, D.C., and works as part of JLL’s national and global energy and sustainability practice.

She leads the team implementing a whole-building energy retrofit of the Empire State Building in New York.

She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Virginia, where she earned a bachelor’s degree with distinction in environmental science and architecture, with a concentration in urban and environmental planning.

Colliers International has announced the additions of Jesse Topal and Zachary Levy as Associate Directors, and Colin Flaherty and Bronson Lane Kelly as Associates, to its New York City operations.

Associate Director Jesse Topal will support the Colliers brokerage team led by President of the Tri-State Region Michael T. Cohen, Vice Chairman Andrew Roos, and Director John Pavone, concentrating on landlord and tenant representation.

Topal has a strong background in financial services and economics having previously served as a Financial Representative for ANI Management Group, Inc., Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, and Forest Hills Financial Group.

He holds a B.S. in Economics from Binghamton University.
Zachary Levy will serve as an Associate Director, concentrating on new business development and servicing existing clients as a member of a Colliers brokerage team led by industry veterans Vice Chairman Joseph Cabrera and Executive Managing Director David Glassman.

Prior to Colliers, Levy focused on office leasing for tenants in the financial services and technology sectors while working at two global commercial real estate firms.

Levy received a B.A. in Entrepreneurial Studies from Hofstra University’s Frank G. Zarb School of Business Administration.

Colin Flaherty joins Colliers as an Associate and will focus on corporate solutions, specifically global tenant representation, as a member of the Colliers brokerage team led by Executive Director Brian Rothschild.

The recent graduate of Yale University completed coursework at the London School of Economics and Political Science, in addition to internships with UBS Financial Services and Capitol Peak Asset Management.

Bronson Lane Kelly will also serve as an Associate on Rothschild’s team, focusing on corporate solutions.

He recently graduated from Johns Hopkins University, and served as an intern for a global commercial real estate brokerage firm. Prior to that, he interned for Safety Marking Company in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

ClickPay, a provider of SaaS payment and billing applications for multifamily and commercial real estate property management, has appointed business development veteran Emily Kramer to the new post of Vice President of Client Development and Partnership Strategy.

Kramer is a former business development specialist at American Express. Prior to her five-year tenure there, she worked at Citigroup.

In her new role, Kramer oversees many of ClickPay’s strategic relationships, ensuring that clients receive the white-glove service for which ClickPay is known. She is also responsible for new growth opportunities through channel partnerships.

Kramer received an M.B.A. from New York University’s Stern School of Business, where she graduated Beta Gamma Sigma (the business honor society).

She earned a B.B.A with distinction from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

Love Funding announced that La Fonte Nesbitt will serve as the company’s first General Counsel.
Nesbitt joins Love Funding as Vice President and General Counsel after serving as a real estate partner at the law firm of Holland & Knight for almost 20 years.

He brings almost three decades of experience related to acquisition, development and financing of housing, retail developments, office buildings and mixed-use projects.

Nesbitt earned a Bachelors of Science from James Madison University and received a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia Law School.

He has spoken and written widely on affordable housing, HUD programs and other real estate matters and has received various awards and honors.

Westcor Land Title Insurance Company announced the appointment of Michael Alfieri, Esq., as a senior commercial underwriter in the New York City office.

Prior to joining Westcor, Alfieri served as vice president and senior underwriting counsel for Lincoln Land Services.

He also served as vice president/senior counsel at Prestige Title Agency and vice president/senior agency counsel at First American Title Insurance Company and counsel for New York Land Services.
Alfieri also brings government experience to the private sector having worked as department head of Land Records Division for the Westchester County Clerk’s office in White Plains.

He also worked as assistant environmental counsel to the New York City Department of Sanitation where he served as executive and special assistant to the Deputy Commissioner of Legal Affairs and also to the Director of The Environmental Unit.

Before working for large title companies, Alfieri founded his own law practice and environmental consultant business in 1993.

Alfieri earned a bachelor of arts degree from Columbia University and a JD degree from Vermont Law School.

Hodges Ward Elliott announced the addition of commercial real estate associates Kyle van Buitenen and Ariel Tambor to their New York team.

Kyle van Buitenen most recently worked as an Associate in JP Morgan’s Real Estate Banking Group. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University, where she majored in Finance and minored in Real Estate.

Ariel Tambor most recently served as an Associate with Cushman & Wakefield, where he completed the firm’s one-year rotational program (PREP).

He holds a bachelor’s degree from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business, where he majored in Business and Political Economy.
