SJP Properties announced the hiring of Enrique Alonso as senior vice president.
Alonso is responsible for business development and the marketing of SJP’s existing New York assets, including 11 Times Square.
Prior to joining SJP, Alonso was as an executive in CBRE’s Global Corporate Services group. In that capacity, he advised clients on their global real estate strategies.
He also previously served as a management consultant with Bain and Company, as well as a business development director with the National Basketball Association.
Alonso is a graduate of Amherst College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, and holds a Master of Business Administration from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Rose Associates has hired Carol M. Jones as a director within the company’s property management division.
Jones joins Rose from Lincoln Property Company where she managed their New York/Connecticut portfolio. Prior to that, she was vice president of asset management with BlackRock, Inc.
Jones has more than two decades of experience in asset management and residential property management.
She holds a bachelor degree in business administration, is a CPM with Institute of Real Estate Management and a member of the National Apartment Association.
Rose Associates has hired Michele Bengelsdorf as a director within the company’s asset management division.
Bengelsdorf joins Rose from Deutsche Bank’s RREEF where she was vice president of asset management.
Bengelsdorf has nearly two decades of experience working in real estate, and she’s spent more than 10 years focused on asset management.
At RREEF she was responsible for overseeing operations of residential properties that comprised 2,000 units of housing. These assets were located throughout New York City, the Northeast and the Mid-Atlantic. Earlier in her career, Bengelsdorf worked in Jones Lang LaSalle’s New York office where she was a vice president of strategic advisory and valuation services.
Bengelsdorf earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Boston University.
Bill Hendry has joined DS&D as chief financial officer.
He brings 30 years of experience in public and privately-held companies with global, operational and SEC reporting and compliance expertise.
Prior to joining DS&D, Hendry spent the last eight years with Conversion Services International, a publicly-held information technology and business process improvement professional services company based out of East Hanover, NJ.
Real estate attorney Andrew Smith has joined Cohen Brothers Realty Corporation as senior vice president/legal.
During a professional career spanning over three decades, Smith has gained extensive experience as a corporate general counsel, including serving as an NYSE-listed REIT President and GC.
His career began in South Florida, and then continued in New York, where he practiced with Weil Gotshal & anges for 14 years, including nine as a real estate department partner.
During that period, he developed a reputation for his special expertise in structuring and closing complex real estate project financing and development transactions. Overall, he has negotiated and closed more than $15 billion of acquisition, development, finance and restructuring transactions nationally.
A graduate of the University of Miami Law School, he has authored and co-authored several real estate related publications.
Greystone has appointed veteran real estate finance expert Marty Lanigan as executive vice president.
Lanigan will oversee Greystone’s Portfolio Lending Group and report to co-chief operating officer Robert Barolak.
Lanigan brings a long and successful background in commercial real estate finance to Greystone.
Prior to his role as executive vice president, Lanigan worked at Meridian Capital and as an independent consultant, completing projects such as the recapitalization of a large hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
Before that, he founded and led Mezz Cap, a mezzanine lending firm that funded and securitized over 600 mezzanine loans in conjunction with a network of over 20 U.S. and Canadian conduit lenders. Lanigan has also held positions with Freddie Mac, GMAC and Prudential over the course of his career.
Lanigan is a CFA charter holder, and holds an MBA in Finance & Investments and International Business from The George Washington University, in Washington, D.C.
Pliskin Realty & Development announced that William Lawyer has joined the firm as an associate broker.
He brings to the role over 12 years of diverse real estate, business and financial experience.
Prior to joining Pliskin, Lawyer served as a property/asset manager with The 10:22 Group. His professional experience also includes his position as investment sales director at Commercial Realty Nation.
Additionally, Lawyer has served as a land use intern with the Office of the Honorable Leroy Comrie, Councilmember; a property investment analyst with Marcus & Millichap; and a distribution supervisor with Coca Cola Enterprises, Inc.
Lawyer graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Investment & Finance. He also holds an Associate of Science in Business Management Science from the University of South Carolina as well as a Property Management Certificate from the New York Real Estate Institute and a Real Associate Certificate from the REAP (Real Estate Associate Program).
Day Pitney announced that Jeffrey S. Held has joined the firm as partner in the Real Estate, Environmental and Land Use department.
A real estate transactions veteran, Held has been involved in numerous real estate transactions and provided real estate guidance in significant corporate and financing transactions.
Held joins Day Pitney from O’Melveny & Myers LLP, where he was head of that firm’s New York real estate practice. He was also a member of the Transactions department and the Mergers and Acquisitions practice group.
In addition to his real estate practice, Held has counseled private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies on transactions. He has also advised clients on general corporate matters.
Christopher Ludeman has been named director of business development at Primary Integration Solutions, Inc.
Ludeman will focus on expanding the commissioning division and developing PI’s sustainable operations and continuous operations validation services.
Ludeman has over 15 years of experience in the mission critical industry. Prior to joining Primary Integration Solutions, he was manager of business development at a national battery monitoring systems company.
He previously served as manager of business development at a full service mission critical design-build firm and was vice president of marketing and business development for a major construction company in the New York City Metro area, serving clients in the mission critical sector nationwide.
SCG Retail announced that Taryn Brandes has joined the company as an associate.
A recent graduate of Tufts University, Brandes held internships at Acadia Realty Trust and Win Properties where she worked on retail leasing and marketing.
She will be responsible for identifying future locations for SCG clients in the New York Metro area.
Brandes is an active member of the ICSC and regularly attends NextGen events.
Christopher Levinson has joined L&L Holding Company, LLC as assistant vice president of acquisitions.
Levinson’s father, David Levinson, chairman and chief executive officer of the firm, made the announcement.
The younger Levinson spent the past six years as a senior financial analyst for CBRE. In his new post, he will focus on executing acquisitions, debt financing and equity joint ventures while reporting to L&L’s senior managing director of acquisitions, Yong W. Cho.
Levinson, who studied finance at Babson College, is now a member of the Real Estate Board of New York, the Israel Bonds New Leadership Cabinet and AHRC New York City Foundation.
Ruddyna Prochet Roldan has joined Cushman & Wakefield, Inc.’s National Financial Consulting Group (NFC) as a senior financial consulting analyst.
She will provide analytical support to the commercial real estate services firm’s brokerage professionals, their clients and other service lines.
Prior to joining the National Financial Consulting Group, Roldan spent the past four and a half years with Cushman & Wakefield’s Corporate Occupier and Investor Services Group (CIS) where, most recently as a senior account associate, she provided analytical support on the GE Capital account and earlier worked as a project control analyst on the firm’s UBS account.
Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Roldan began her career as a finance analyst for UBS Financial Services, Inc.
Roldan is a graduate of Seton Hall University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, and of Texas A&M University, where she earned a Master of Business Administration.
Colliers International announced the appointment of Craig Caggiano as executive director.
His diverse and successful career has included roles in virtually all principal aspects of the industry, with experience as a practicing real estate attorney, head of a corporate real estate department, and nearly a decade as a senior executive with the global corporate services division of CB Richard Ellis.
Caggiano began his professional career as an attorney with two large New York metropolitan area law firms, Budd Larner and Stern Steiger Croland.
