The weird and the wonderful: It must be chashama time

More than 100 performance artists will headline this year’s chashama Gala to celebrate the non-profit’s ongoing commitment of giving artists free or affordable space to create and present their works.

The Gala will take place in the Frank Gehry-designed dining hall on the 4th floor of Four Times Square, the former Condé Nast Building, on Wednesday, June 8, from 6 to 9 p.m.

The evening will honor Dustin Yellin, artist and founder of Pioneer Works. An after-party will follow.

A standing, free-form event, guests are invited to wander, explore, and experience performances and atmospheric environments spread out across the entire floor.

The gala includes cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner and beautiful — albeit sometimes off-beat and wacky — performances.

“Our Gala allows our guests to interact with performers and art installations throughout the evening as they flow through the party space,” chashama founder Anita Durst said.

Annually, the Gala attracts more than 400 people, including corporate and real estate executives, arts professionals, and innovative creators.

All proceeds will help chashama continue to support artists by providing them access to affordable live, work, and presentation space, which helps keep New York City artistically vibrant
