Spector Group announced the completion of the corporate headquarters for Magnitude Capital, which manages approximately $3.8 billion in multi-strategy portfolios of hedge funds.
“Effortless was the design goal we set and met with this project, using uniquely innovative ideas for such an iconic building,” said Spector Group principal Marc Spector, AIA, NCARB. “We created a space that functions harmoniously for Magnitude Capital, while also expressing their distinct style.”
Magnitude Capital headquarters, located on the 56th Floor at 200 Park Avenue, covers 20,000 s/f. Spector Group created a curvilinear core wall that helps to create a fluid movement of circulation from the point of entry, way-finding around the core and into the space.
“The detail of the millwork on various planes is very dynamic,” said Bryan Richter, senior designer, Spector Group. “The heart of the space is a series of vertical walnut fins that creates a sense of movement as you walk alongside them. They appear to “walk” with you as you circulate along the main core leading you to the many collaborative spaces, the communal kitchen area, and a wide range of meeting rooms.”
Spector Group designed a collaborative, open work space with just five individual offices. Workstation neighborhoods were created, using customized, suspended “clouds” cut into distinctive shapes, giving a city block atmosphere to the large open space. Custom glass enclosed topiaries with low-water plantings mark each neighborhood and transition from the straight lines of the work stations to the core’s curved walkway.
