SL Green signs 100,000 s/f lease with Mintz Levin at 919 Third Avenue

SL Green announced that Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., a full-service Am Law 100 firm, has signed a 101,394 square-foot, 20-year lease, covering floors 37-39 and partial concourse level at 919 Third Avenue.

The 47-story tower will become the firm’s New York headquarters when it relocates from Tishman Speyer’s 666 Third Avenue.

“We’re delighted to welcome Mintz, Levin, et al to 919 Third Avenue,” said Steven Durels, Executive Vice President and Director of Leasing and Real Property at SL Green. “This large new lease is further confirmation of an improving leasing market as tenants increasingly make long term commitments in preparation for a return to office.”

“Mintz is coming off six consecutive years of record revenues and profits”, said Stephen J. Gulotta, Jr., Managing Member of Mintz’ New York Office. “Our New York office has been a significant contributor to our success. We are growing rapidly in New York and we believe 919 is the perfect location for us to continue that growth and best serve the needs of our clients.”

Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, 919 Third Avenue is a 1.5 million-square-foot, 47-story glass and steel office tower spanning the entire block between East 55th and 56th Streets. Boasting a prestigious tenant roster and panoramic views the tower is currently undergoing significant capital improvement upgrades, including a new lobby featuring a high-design espresso bar, new plaza entrance, new bike room, new elevator cabs and new bathrooms.

Moshe Sukenik, Eric Zemachson and Jason Perla of Newmark represented Mintz in the transaction. SL Green was represented in-house.
