ERG Property Advisors announced that Richard Guarino, partner at the full-service brokerage company based in New York City, has been sworn in as president of the Bronx-Manhattan North Association of Realtors (BMAR).
Officially representing the real estate industry since 1924, BMAR is the local chapter for the New York State and National Association of Realtors.
As BMAR president, Guarino, who has conducted hundreds of real estate transactions over the course of his career, will work with the Board of Directors, staff, and members of BMAR to raise awareness of the organization and support and further its mission.
“It is a tremendous honor to begin my term as President of the Bronx-Manhattan North Association of Realtors,ˮ said Guarino.“As the association’s 56th President, I am amazed at the legacy of dedicated professionals who have led our organization through nearly a century of incredible changes and challenges. I look forward to continue to make progress with BMAR towards advocating for reasonable regulations to improve our industry and economy.”
As head of BMAR, Guarino will continue his record as an advocate for community and volunteer work. A long-term volunteer at the Fathers Heart Ministries in Manhattan, he and his wife Jennifer give their time to the local animal shelter near their home in Port Washington.
“We give a voice to the voiceless,” said Guarino, who has dedicated many hours to the humane treatment of abused animals.
Guarino has also excelled in the private sector. Since starting his real estate career in 1999, he has been involved in hundreds of real estate transactions in the Tri-State area. Notable transactions include such trophy properties as the United Charities Building in Manhattan’s Gramercy Park, The Circle in the Square Theater in Midtown, as well as the Korean Village Shopping Mall in Flushing, Queens.
Before he began his real estate career, Guarino established an exceptional knowledge of the streets of the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan at his first job installing and maintaining over 120 pay phones for RJM Communications.
“Working with Richard in the Bronx I have witnessed first-hand his breadth of knowledge for Bronx real estate as well as his in-depth understanding of the communities within the Borough,” said Mark Engel, owner and manager of Langsam Property Services, a Bronx-based developer.
“This local market knowledge allows investors to make informed choices when investing and doing business in these communities.”
As BMAR President, Rich aims to utilize his deep understanding of the borough and apply it to further promoting economic development for the communities of the Bronx and Northern Manhattan.
