Related files permits for 23-story resi building near the High Line

Related Companies is moving forward with plans to build a residential tower near the High Line.

Related filed a foundation permit application for a four-story, 93,425 s/f mixed-use property at 555 West 22nd Street. A representative for the firm said that the filing does not reflect the full scope of the project. The structure is now expected to be 23 stories high, one floor higher than Related’s previously announced plans for the property.  The total number of units, the building height and the total square footage for the project have yet to be finalized.

The filing shows the extensive amenities package planned for the building. It will contain a pool, an automated parking garage and a dog spa at the cellar level. At the ground floor, there will also be a lounge room, an event and game center and a cardio center. The second floor, meanwhile, will contain a private gallery.

The property was part of an assemblage that Related acquired last year. The previous owner was Las Vegas-based Amerco, which retained a three-story U-Haul building at the site. Related gained zoning approval to push through with the sale earlier this year. The planned tower will replace two three-story buildings and a one-story structure.
