Eastern Consolidated’s Retail Leasing Division has arranged a five-year, 1,080 s/f lease at 21 Thompson Street in SoHo for WundaBar, a pilates studio founded by Amy Jordan, LA’s hottest celebrity trainer.
Jordan is opening her first WundaBar studio in New York City early next year after dominating Southern California in nine locations where she catered to celebrities including Susan Sarandon, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Tia Mowry, Marla Maples, Tinashe and Austin Butler and world class athletes.
James Famularo, senior director of the Retail Leasing Division for Eastern Consolidated, represented both the landlord and WundaBar in the transaction.
“When we signed this exclusive about six weeks ago, I envisioned a pilates or yoga studio in the space because it’s surrounded by health-conscious residents, new luxury residential developments, and high-end hotels,” Famularo said. “WundaBar was on our short list and when we reached out we discovered they wanted a SoHo location. As a result, it turned out to be a win-win for everyone.”
The WundaBar studio will be directly across from Karim Rashid’s the new boutique condo at 30 Thompson Street and one block from Cary Tamarkin’s new condo development at 10 Sullivan Street, and near high-end hotels including The James Hotel, SoHo Grand, Trump SoHo, Mondrian SoHo, and 60 Thompson.
Jordan started teaching pilates in 2007, and by 2009 had opened two high-energy, reformer-based studios. In 2011, she launched WundaBar Pilates, the revolutionary addictive studios taking Southern California by storm.
