O’Connor makes big, bold statement on the Upper East Side

This summer, O’Connor Capital Partners launched sales at 200 East 62nd Street, a new condominium located in one of Manhattan’s most desirable residential enclaves.

Reimagined by Messana O’Rorke, a Greenwich Village-based architectural team that wields a calling-card of signature modernism and sophisticated designs, 200 East 62 will offer spacious, light-filled interiors with well-appointed amenities and services.

Originally built in 1967, 200 East 62 has been redesigned with a refined, modern aesthetic to emphasize the open and expansive interiors.

With interiors and public spaces curated by Messana O’Rorke, in their first multi-family residential development, the 30-story building has been converted into 115 condos ranging from one- to five-bedrooms.

The building’s transformation begins on tree-lined 62nd Street with a newly landscaped porte-cochere driveway that is attended by a 24-hour doorman and concierge.

Messana O’Rorke infused contemporary themes into the lobby as well. Intended to be an escape from the chaotic lifestyle that many New Yorkers navigate, the lobby is designed to generate a warm vibe.
This vibe is accentuated by Basaltina stone floors, a fireplace with Basaltina hearth and walnut surround, and a stainless steel reception desk and podium.

“When approaching the design of the residences at 200 East 62, we worked closely with the development team to consider not just the layouts and flow of the homes, but how residents would live in the spaces and the functionality of each home,” said Brian Messana of Messana O’Rorke, which has handled a variety of commercial, industrial and institutional projects throughout the United States, as well as over 50 private homes in New York.

“In our first project of this scale, we strayed from the traditional, classic Upper East Side layouts to create spaces that allowed for movement and natural light.”

With an emphasis on openness, all of the homes feature expansive floor plans, generously proportioned windows and sweeping views. They have European, seven inch oiled white oak flooring, nine-foot ceilings, solid core doors with polished chrome hardware, washer and dryer, and are pre-wired for cable, telephone, high speed internet and Verizon FiOs.

200 East 62 will also feature an array of lifestyle amenities including a fitness center, children’s playroom, and landscaped rooftop terrace with furnishings.

Additional conveniences offered in the pet-friendly building include individual storage for purchase, bicycle storage, refrigerated storage, and additional laundry facility.

A parking garage is available onsite that offers direct entry to the building.

Perhaps one of the top selling points of the building is it’s positioning on the Upper East Side.

Within this unique neighborhood, residents enjoy access to stylish boutiques, fine food markets, and excellent restaurants. Celebrated cultural institutions, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Frick Collection, and the Park Avenue Armory are part of the everyday landscape, as well as such shopping destinations as such Bloomingdale’s and Barneys New York.

The sales gallery and a collection of model residences are located in the building and are currently available for viewing. Residences start at $2,180,000. The types of residences available include one bedrooms which span about 1,145 s/f, two bedrooms which take up about around 1,700 s/f, three bedrooms which claim nearly 2,000 s/f and four bedrooms that span more than 2,500 s/f.

The two bedrooms will run residents over $3 million, the three bedrooms flirt with just under $4 million, and the four bedroom option runs about $6.2 million.

The bedrooms in even the smaller options are notably spacious. The significant size is impressive for a condo accommodation, even at this price point.
