New Empire Corp and ODA Announce Groundbreaking and Commencement of Construction at 24-01 Queens Plaza North in Long Island City.

New Empire Corp, a leading New York-based development and construction management firm building top-quality residential projects, is in partnership with ODA, one of the most recognized firms of its generation, promptly establishing a reputation for delivering imaginative and mold-breaking designs in New York, held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the beginning of construction at its newest Queens project, located at 24-01 Queens Plaza North in Long Island City.  At the groundbreaking, New Empire chairman and CEO Bentley Zhao received the “NYC Innovation in Design of 2023 Award” from City Council for the 24-01 LIC project.

Located in an emerging urban landscape at the nexus of the industrial fabric of Long Island City and the residential traditions of Astoria, Queens Plaza North brings an elevated design that will shape the future of the neighborhood. The full-service 19-story residential building will be designed by renowned architecture firm ODA  and feature stunning layouts, finishes, and on-site parking. Designed and programmed with modern living in mind, the building will offer a robust suite of services and amenity spaces. The building’s massing maximizes views and natural light, emphasizing the landmark corner, and ultimately creating a gateway to Manhattan along Queens Plaza North. The interior common spaces, designed by Paris Forino, will include a communal outdoor space and penthouse resident lounge, as well as a fully-equipped fitness center.

“Long Island City is fast becoming a cultural destination, with exciting nightlife, diverse dining options and a burgeoning art community,” said Bentley Zhao, chairman and CEO of New Empire.  “We predict that this development, like our other Long Island City projects, will attract young professionals and first-time buyers who settle into New York from regions throughout the U.S. and internationally, particularly Asia,” he added. New Empire Corp. reaffirms its commitment to driving economic recovery and growth in New York State (NYS) post-pandemic through continued investments and job creation.
