Faith Hope Consolo, chairman, and Joseph Aquino, executive vice president, of Douglas Elliman’s Retail Group have leased a grand, multi-level space at 45 East 58th Street to Caruso.
The new location will be the luxury label’s first U.S. location, New York flagship and additionally house its showroom. Created by fashion impresario Umberto Angeloni, the Plaza District store is situated directly across from the Four Seasons Hotel and Brioni boutique.
“This is truly elegant menswear, designed in Italy and created by the former C.E.O. and co-owner of Brioni,” points out Consolo. “A New York debut in the heart of the Plaza District should be ‘harmonious’ for this Caruso on myriad levels.”
Adds Aquino, “The label caters to what it defines as the ‘modern rich’. Launching a U.S. flagship near Barneys, Bergdorf and Bloomingdale’s, where the fashion-conscious with means shop, inherently spells success.”
Formerly the Spanierman Gallery, the unusually large space encompasses more than 11,000 square feet on two levels. Consolo and Aquino exclusively represented the tenant. The landlord, 480 Park Avenue Corp., was represented by Ripco.
