Landmark Properties Expands Purpose-Built Housing Portfolio in Seattle with The Mark at Seattle

Landmark Properties, a fully-integrated real estate firm specializing in development, construction, investment management, and operation of high-quality residential communities, recently closed on the land that will become The Mark at Seattle, an off-campus apartment community to accommodate University of Washington (UW) students and is expected to deliver in advance of the Fall 2025 semester. This is Landmark’s second project in the Seattle market, with The Standard at Seattle currently under construction. 

“Landmark is excited to start our second project at the University of Washington,” said president and CEO, Wes Rogers. “This location was particularly attractive as it is in the heart of the University District neighborhood and is just steps from campus. Given the high barriers to entry in this market and strong fundamentals at the University of Washington, this project fits our investment criteria perfectly.” 

Located in the heart of Seattle’s University District and within walking distance to UW’s campus, The Mark is located at 1200 NE 45th Street and will contain 500 beds in a variety of floorplans ranging from one- to five-bedrooms. The design of these units and the privacy these layouts offer will stand out to potential residents when weighing options among comparable properties nearby.  

Each residence features a gourmet-style kitchen with decorator cabinets, quartz counter tops and stainless look appliances. Every apartment at The Mark comes fully furnished, offers hardwood style flooring, in-unit washers and dryers, private bathrooms in select units, and high-speed internet and cable.  

Additionally, residents can access the 24-hour study lounge, computer lab and fitness center. The resort-style outdoor amenity spaces add additional opportunities for recreation and socialization with a state-of-the-art clubroom, rooftop deck with swimming pool, and sauna among other popular amenities.  

In addition to the fully programmed amenity package, The Mark will include approximately 3,300-square-feet of ground floor retail. For residents with vehicles, an underground deck offers ample parking for an additional fee. 

Landmark Construction will serve as general contractor for the duration of this project.  

UW ranks No. 25 in the world, or fifth among U.S. public institutions, for student experience, faculty prestige and quality of research, according to a list recently published by the Center for World University Rankings.
