Kimco Realty Bolsters Southern Region Team with Appointment of New Vice President of Development

Kimco Realty (NYSE: KIM) today announced the appointment of Josh Gelfman as Vice President of Development as the company continues to expand its presence in Florida. Gelfman will oversee value-creating redevelopment, expansion, and mixed-use projects for Kimco’s Southern region, including South Miami S.C., Oakwood Plaza North & South, Colonial Plaza, and Cypress Creek Station, all located in Florida.

“Josh’s knowledge of the Florida market, strong relationships with key stakeholders, and proven track record of getting redevelopment projects over the finish line will be vital as Kimco expands its portfolio and mixed-use entitlements in the region,” says Geoffrey Glazer, Senior Vice President at Kimco. “Kimco is always looking for new opportunities to grow our business in Florida and we are confident Josh’s leadership will be paramount to our success as we pursue new projects.”

Gelfman comes to Kimco with over 15 years of diverse real estate development experience in both the public and private sector. In his previous roles with Terranova Corporation, Miami-Dade County Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources, and New York City Economic Development Corporation, Gelfman has worked closely with local municipalities, brokers, community groups, and other key stakeholders to achieve a win-win scenario for redevelopment projects.

“As both a South Florida resident and commercial development professional, I have long
admired the incredible portfolio of properties that Kimco Realty has created in my community,” says Gelfman. “This market has experienced tremendous growth, providing Kimco the opportunity to further expand and evolve its portfolio to meet the changing consumer dynamics while also implementing environmentally friendly building practices that local community members are looking for. I’m looking forward to working alongside Kimco’s well-respected, talented team and the representatives and stakeholders of the communities in Florida where we are located.”
