Juice chain signs lease at Greenpoint Landing

Park Tower Group announced an agreement with Pure Green, a fast-growing cold pressed juice and smoothie chain, to open its newest location at Greenpoint Landing, a 22-acre development stretching for half a mile along Brooklyn’s waterfront.

The popular shop, which features a variety of healthy food offerings including wellness shots, smoothies, acai and pitaya bowls, and more, will occupy an 840 s/f storefront at 5 Blue Slip, a space that directly overlooks the recently renovated and expanded Newtown Barge Park and esplanade.

Pure Green at Greenpoint Landing will be the brand’s second Brooklyn location, and is expected to be open to the public starting this summer.

Pure Green will be the third community-oriented retailer to open at 5 Blue Slip and neighboring 7 Bell Slip in recent months. The store is joined at 5 Blue Slip by Prestige Organic Market, which is set to open in two months.  Directly across the street at 7 Bell Slip is Riverside Market, a 24-hour deli and sandwich shop, which opened in October 2020, while Eleva Coffee, a café serving sustainably sourced coffee, opened in late 2019.

These leases bring retail occupancy at the first phase of development at Greenpoint Landing to 100 percent.

“We are thrilled to welcome Pure Green, which is the perfect complement and bookend to our Greenpoint Landing retail leasing program,” said Marian Klein, President of Park Tower Group, the master developer of Greenpoint Landing. “As is the case with Eleva, Prestige Organic and Riverside Market, Pure Green will provide residents and local community members with high-quality, healthy and convenient food and beverage options, all of which are more important today than ever before.”

“My partners and I, my father and brother, are Greenpoint natives. We grew up on Eagle Street and spent our childhood at Dupont Park, playing basketball overlooking the river. It brings us a great sense of pleasure to be able to open a health-conscious business like Pure Green here in Greenpoint, where we still have family and friends,” said Jose Garzon, an owner and operator of the new Pure Green at 5 Blue Slip.  “We look forward to connecting with, and serving the tenants of Greenpoint Landing and the surrounding community.”

Peter Schubert and Bill Strassman of TerraCRG represented both Pure Green and Park Tower Group in the 10-year lease transaction.

“We think Pure Green is a perfect match for this corner site that is adjacent to a public park and a publicly accessible waterfront promenade in Greenpoint,” said Schubert, Managing Director of Commercial Leasing for TerraCRG. “Both the concept and its name seem ideally suited for the neighborhood.”
