Skanska USA provided the following images from last week’s groundbreaking ceremony for B2, the first of 14 residential towers planned for the Atlantic Yards development in downtown Brooklyn. Skanska and Forest City Ratner plan to make B2 the tallest building in the world to have been built using modular construction.

The groundbreaking marks an exciting day for the construction industry as prefabricated/modular construction methods are a safer, more-energy efficient alternative to traditional building. Skanska is proud to partner with FCRC in creating FC+Skanska Modular, a new company that will fabricate modular components of B2 in a 150,694 square-foot factory located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
