ABS Partners Real Estate brokered a deal on behalf of the Flatiron School for 11,165 s/f at 11 Broadway.
The school, which specializes in continued education in web development, was recently named a winner in the Take the H.E.L.M.: Hire + Expand in Lower Manhattan competition by the New York City Economic Development Corporation, which provided funding for it to expand and relocate from its previous location at 33 West 26th St.
Adam Maxson and Douglas Regal of ABS Partners represented the tenant, while the landlord was represented by Mendy Braun of Braun Management. This deal was the second time in the last year that Maxson and Regal represented the school.
“There was a tremendous response to the training programs The Flatiron School offers, and it became evident almost immediately that a bigger space would be necessary to meet the growing demand,” said Regal.
“After initially targeting the Midtown South submarket, The Flatiron School was deservedly recognized as a finalist for the first ever Take the H.E.L.M. competition, which allowed the school to find an affordable space downtown.”
Added, Maxson, “After a thorough search of the downtown market, the second floor at 11 Broadway was the clear winner. It features extra high ceilings and polished concrete floors, offering The Flatiron School the best opportunity to create an exciting and innovative atmosphere to match its vision.”
Take the H.E.L.M. is a competition designed to encourage innovative companies to join other businesses that have recently opened or expanded in Lower Manhattan.
