Finance co. expands to 28,000 s/f at 500 Park

JLL has completed a 28,165 s/f lease at 500 Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan for SLR Capital Partners.

SLR Capital Partners, a commercial finance platform, renewed its lease on the entire third floor for 19,684 s/f and expanded by 8,481 s/f on the partial sixth floor.

Constructed in 1984, 500 Park Avenue is a 40-story tower that features commercial office space on the lower floors and luxury condominiums on the upper floors. The property recently completed a Gensler-designed lobby upgrade with new signature artwork and furnishings.

The building is one of the Plaza District’s leading signature assets. It is located two blocks from Central Park, and is surrounded by restaurants, retail outlets and cultural attractions. The 4, 5 and 6 subway lines are just steps away from the property, providing direct access to Grand Central Terminal.

Ownership was represented by Cynthia Wasserberger and Frank Doyle, vice chairmen, and Georgina Cook, associate vice president, with JLL. SLR Capital Partners was represented by Rob Martin, vice chairman, and Dan Santagata, senior vice president, also with JLL.

“We are pleased to announce that SLR Capital Partners will not only be extending its lease at 500 Park Avenue, but also expanding its presence,” Wasserberger said. “The tenant’s commitment to 500 Park Avenue positively reinforces the importance of the office place as tenants return to work, and it validates New York City’s position as a pivotal place of business for boutique financial service firms.”
