The Worldwide Leasing Team of Faith Hope Consolo at Douglas Elliman arranged the lease for couture fashion designer Michael Boris at 979 Lexington Avenue, between 70th and 71st streets.
Open in time for New York Fashion Week, the location will feature his ready-to-wear collection and will complement the atelier’s already standing boutique directly facing this storefront, on the opposite side of Avenue at 970 Lexington Avenue.
Michael Boris, is referred to as “The Master of Anonymous Luxury.” During his 35 year career he has focused primarily on his made-to-order clients. The Michael Boris Collection is available at Neiman Marcus and Wilkes Bashford as well as his signature Trunk Shows.
“Michael Boris is dedicated to his clients. He tours the country personally presenting his collection,” said The Worldwide Leasing Team Chairman Faith Hope Consolo. “Debuting during the epitome of NYC chic and style, this move to feature his ready-to-wear collection is right on trend, and this shop works wonderfully.”
This stretch of Lexington Avenue is prized by “women who shop” for its eclectic couture designers and fashion boutiques, including Cotélac, Lee Anderson Couture, Shen New York, San Francisco Clothing, Nina McLemore, recently opened couture designer Zang Toi as well as fine jewelers Peipers and Kojen and Jennifer Miller.
“These designers understand that buyers want to be able to feel their fabrics and browse the collection, which is why these ateliers and boutiques are so important to New York’s fashion community,” Consolo said.
“This shopping corridor will only become more important as new independent designers take up the few remaining storefronts along this fabulous designers row.”
