The Amirian Group just sold the Greenwich Village townhouse at 16 East 10th Street for a record-setting $32 million.
“The sale of 16 E 10th Street is an exceptional achievement for The Amirian Group,” said David Amirian, president and founder. “This is an extraordinary property, and we were extremely diligent and meticulous in our efforts to showcase the home, which led to the fantastic result of a record sale within such a speedy timeframe.”
Purchased by Amirian in May 2012, the 167-year-old building was renovated from the former Pen and Brush Gallery into a six-story house with roof terrace and garden.
Some of the highlights include a swimming pool, gym, steam room, wine cellar, staff quarters, elevator, smart-home technology and radiant floors.
16 East 10th Street has set the bar for the highest single family (non-double wide townhouse ever sold), and is the third highest townhouse ever sold in Greenwich Village. The highest recorded sale is 11 West 10th Street, the 55 ft. townhouse sold in 2007 for $33.148 million and 22 Downing Street, the 50 ft. townhouse sold in 2012 for $33 million.
The townhouse was originally purchased by The Amirian Group and Dr. Warren Hammerschlag for $11.2 million.
