Cushman & Wakefield Exclusively Marketing Unique Flexible Property in East Village for Sale

Cushman & Wakefield announced today that the real estate services firm has been retained on an exclusive basis to market 137 Second Avenue, a 15,052-square-foot office or residential conversion property, for sale.

Cushman & Wakefield’s Hunter Moss, Michael DeCheser and Bryan Hurley will be leading the marketing efforts on behalf of the owner, CoFinance.

“137 Second Avenue is a visually stunning and historic landmarked property,” said Moss. “Built in 1884 and designed by famous architect William J. Schickel, the iconic building is located in the heart of the East Village, one of New York City’s most sought-after neighborhoods. The property features lofty ceiling heights, abundant light, ample outdoor space and flexible floorplans offering perspective buyers a rare blank canvas opportunity at a scale that needs to be seen to be believed.”

The three-story plus windowed basement property features an elevator, 12-to-15-foot ceiling heights, rooftop space, 50 feet of frontage along Second Avenue and over 8,000 square feet of additional air rights allowing for potential expansion. The asset benefits from flexible zoning and will be delivered vacant. The property previously served as the headquarters for The Wing and has an interesting and well-documented history.

The property is located between East 9th Street and St. Mark’s Place, one block east of New York University, Cooper Union and the 6 train at Astor Place.
