Cushman & Wakefield represented Animated Storyboards, a global animation company, in a relocation and expansion at 1001 Avenue of the Americas.
Animated Storyboards, which relocated from 1995 Broadway, will occupy 10,031 s/f on the entire 24th and 25th floors in the 25-story, Midtown Manhattan office building. The transaction represents the company’s New York City headquarters location.
A Cushman & Wakefield team led by Melissa Bazar, executive director and Jodi Roberts, Director, represented the tenant in the long-term transaction. ABS Partners was represented in-house.
“1001 Avenue of the Americas is a great fit for Animated Storyboards, with exposed ceilings and creative space with fantastic City views,” said Bazar.
“A big need of the tenant was to find space that offered rooftop access. While the building didn’t originally offer this, we worked with ABS to develop a new private rooftop terrace, which would allow Animated Storyboards to host their clients.”
Animated Storyboards is expanding rapidly. This year, Cushman & Wakefield’s Bazar and Roberts represented the company in a 4,142 s/f transaction at 55 East Monroe in Chicago, IL for a new full-service production facility. The company has plans to open new facilities in Los Angeles, Dusseldorf, Germany and Shanghai.
Animated Storyboards was established in 2001 as a small New York City-based production company with an animation development crew in Tel Aviv.
In 2006, the company established a large animation studio in Bangkok, Thailand and in 2009 it opened a production studio in London’s Soho neighborhood.
