David Schlammʼs City Connections Realty [CCR] announced that Ty Byrdʼs Aventana Real Estate has become part of his firm.
Byrd brings with him over 40 exclusive rental buildings along with a team of five agents, who will operate as the Aventana Team at City Connections Realty.
“Although I liked operating independently, I came to realize that under the CCR’s business model, it would not only benefit myself but everyone on my team,” said Byrd.
“I will not only net more money, but now I could leverage all of my skills along with the services and support that CCR provides. This will put me in a better position to grow my business as well as my team’s business.
A 20-year veteran of the business, Byrd has known Schlamm for many years.
Schlamm said, “Ty has amassed some nice higher-end rental and commercial products during his career, and he will now have more time to focus on growth.
“My focus, going forward is to talk with smaller to medium size firms about joining or merging with City Connections Realty.
“It truly is a win-win for all parties. It’s been almost 18 months since DSA merged with us and that has been a huge success. Back in 2014, Mike Malul also associated with us and is now operating as the Netmore Team.
“It’s all about cutting out most of the expenses and just keeping your productive agents with you, especially in today’s brokerage climate.”
City Connections has 105 licensed salespeople and associate brokers on its books who last year sold 96 apartments priced over $1 million.
The 30-year-old company also runs 350 exclusive rental buildings and has expanded its commercial division to transact office and retail leasing as well as investment sales.
City Connections operates out of one 6,400 s/f office on West 23rd Street in Chelsea.
