Book store coming to Sag Harbor

JOSHUA ROTH

Manhattan Skyline Management Corp. has signed a new lease agreement with an independent bookseller on Main Street in Sag Harbor, Long Island.

Sag Harbor Books, a new bookstore founded and operated by local resident and bookseller Daniel Hirsch, will soon occupy the storefront located at 7 Main Street near the corner of Bay Street.

“The arrival of a new, independent bookstore is welcome news for Sag Harbor’s vibrant Main Street corridor which already hosts an eclectic mix of stores and restaurants,” said Joshua Roth, Vice President, Retail Leasing for Manhattan Skyline Management Corp., who represented the landlord and the tenant on the leasing transaction.

“We are thrilled that Sag Harbor Books chose 7 Main Street as their new home, especially as we mark the unofficial start of summer with Memorial Day this weekend.”

Sag Harbor Books will occupy 1,650 s/f on the ground floor of the building with approximately 20 feet of frontage along Main Street.

Owner Daniel Hirsch and a staff of three employees will sell both new and rare books as well as other collectibles.

Sag Harbor Books will become Hirsch’s second bookstore on the East End of Long Island: In 2014, he opened Southampton Books in Southampton Village which he still owns and operates.

Neighboring tenants include The Corner Bar, Flying Point Surf Boutique and Wolffer Kitchen.
