Avison Young brokers deals for two new Manhattan eateries

Food is replacing feet in St Marks Place. Japanese eatery AO Bowl has opened a 700 s/f space in part of the space previously occupied by Foot Gear Plus, which closed in 2018.

Avison Young associate Maria Fernandez-Barragan represented the tenant in the 10-year lease at 82 St. Marks Place, comprised of 400 s/f on the ground floor and 300 s/f on the building’s lower level.

Greg Goldberg and James Famularo with Meridian Retail Leasing represented the landlord HUBB NYC.

Fernandez-Barragan along with Avison Young principal Todd Korren, also brokered a 15-year lease for iPizzaNY at 3801 Broadway. The tenant will occupy 690 s/f on the ground floor and 690 s/f on the lower level. Korren and Fernandez-Barragan represented both the tenant and landlord, Dynamic Broadway Corp.

“To succeed in this challenging market, it’s critical for retailers to identify the right location at the right price, while incorporating data to understand how today’s consumer thinks,” Fernandez-Barragan said.

“Both locations are in densely populated, high foot traffic neighborhoods and each of these tenants knew that there would be enough of a demand for their concepts to flourish.”
