MIPIM Conference
Mar. 11-13: The MIPIM conference organized in partnership with Allianz Real Estate, will take place at Palais des Festivals, Cannes, France. Nicolas Ferrary, CEO of Airbnb France, will speak during the conference, which will focus attention on the impact the digital economy is having on the international real estate industry.
Appraisal Institute Luncheon
Mar. 11: The Metropolitan New York Chapter of the Appraisal Institute will host a luncheon and program at 11:30 a.m. entitled Goodbye Green & White: Why Massey Knakal Sold to C&W. The program features a one-on-one interview with Paul Massey Jr., formerly of Massey Knakal, currently president, New York Investment Sales, Cushman & Wakefield, conducted by Brian R. B’nai B’rith Luncheon
Mar. 12: The “Booming Brooklyn Market” will be covered by a panel at the next B’nai B’rith luncheon. The event will be held at the Cornell Club and will begin with a reception at 12 p.m. and the buffet will begin at 12:30 p.m. and last until 2 p.m. Speakers include Boris Gilad, Brookland Capital, Chris Havens, Aptsandlofts.com, and David Shorenstein, Silvershore Properties. Mar. 19: The annual Staten Island Agent Day and Trade Show presented by the Staten Island Board of Realtors (SIBOR) will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bloomfield, Staten Island. It will begin with a breakfast celebration at 8:30 a.m. honoring the top producers in the borough’s real estate community, and continue on throughout the day with business networking. The breakfast will be followed by the trade show, which begins at 10 a.m., and a cocktail reception at 4 p.m. Trade show admission is free for SIBOR members; the cost of breakfast is $35. Apr. 1: A top FBI terrorism expert will discuss preparedness for Active Shooter situations at a networking breakfast hosted by the Long Island Real Estate Group (LIREG). Richard M. Frankel, Special Agent in Charge of the New York Field Office’s Criminal Division, will speak at 8 a.m. at the Old Westbury Golf & Country Club, 270 Wheatley Rd., Old Westbury, New York. High-profile active shooter situations have included the 2007 shooting at Virginia Tech in which 32 people were killed and the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut that claimed 26 lives. April 21: The Museum of the City of New York presents Saving Place: 50 Years of New York City Landmarks, an exhibition exploring the roots and impact of a landmark preservation movement. The exhibition will close on September 13, 2015.

April 29: The William Newman Department of Real Estate at Baruch College presents: “Global Real Estate Markets: Trends and Opportunities,” a half-day conference for international real estate investors, developers, and academic researchers who will assess recent and future trends and examine the risks in global real estate investing.
